It's about lung cancer.

Do you know what cells are involved in lung cancer, not the tissue (lung) but the cells?

I am 39 years old. There is as major breakthrough using a drug called Cromolyn which cannot absorb orally (only 1%). This substance "N-[8-(2-hydroxybenzoyl) amino] Caprylate (SNAC)" allows it to pass through the gastric membranes into the bloodstream. It appears to be a N-acylated amino acid. Can someone tell me if it is common and if there is a "trade name" or "common name"? i.e. Tuarine or baking soda or if it is a drug of somekind?. The potential cure for pancreatic cancer is involved here. Thank you for any assistance.

I was diagnosed in the summer of 06, with stage 0. I also have atypical ductal hyperplasia with the enlarged cells have hyperchromatic nuclei and large nucleoli. Which I have no idea what that means. I was put on the med tamoxifen by my oncologist who told me I don't have to see him again, because the meds will take care of everything, so it won't come back the cancer. I don't know if the cancer will return or weather I should find another oncologist. Please give me your opinions.

Does anybody know if there is a country or countries who are far more advanced with treatments for c.l.l. Chronic lymphoctye leukemia than the u.k. whenever I ask the above question I feel as if I am not being told the answers because it is being treated by the n.h.s. and they have limited funds and people are being denied treatment because of cost I am not saying there is a miracle cure but if there is a country that has a drug and it is expensive one should be given the oppotunity to purchase them if such a drug is available and told if there are such drugs.

I have 3 questions about the chemotherapy-related hair changes. These don't apply to me, but unfortunately it seems I know of more and more folks dealing with this. :(

1. It seems I always hear of straight-haired people having CURLY hair after it grows back. But what about people with curly hair to begin with -- does it sometimes come back straight? Even in people of black/African-American ancestry?

2. How does this happen? Our hair texture is determined by the shape of the follicles. I think it's something like round follicles produce straight hair and square follicles produce curly hair. Anyway, does chemo actually change the genetically-determined SHAPE of our follicles?

3. How often does a person's hair NOT change in texture when it grows back? Does anyone have their hair come in exactly the same as before?

(P.S. I'm not asking about color changes. That makes more sense. I'm just confused about texture). Thanks all! :)

I really don't know as I had my mastectomy in April and went thru four chemo. I was supposed to go for radiotherapy, but I dd not do it as my case is in the grey area.

My lump is 4cm but my lymph nodes are clear. I am taking TCM medicine from a reputable TCM Hospital. So far so good, but the niggling doubt is always there. My Oncologist recommend me Tamoxifen but am not taking it as my ER is negative and PR is weakly positive.

I have made the decision to stick to TCM. Right now I am looking for a home-based job like data, telemarketer etc., Age is not on my side as i am 47 this year. Any suggestion.

she is 19. she and i didnt have an actual sexual relationship but sometime i put my fingers in but i hv never put my penis inside. i am her first boyfriend and she hasnt had any sex before.
as my limited knowledge, i just know that cervix cancer is easy to develop if girls have too many sex partners and have a sexual relationship before 18, and the cancer is caused by the virus HPV, usually women never try sex have nearly zero chance to get a cervix cancer, so i am just wondering, will HPV still pass to her cervix if only my fingers are used?
