My dad has bone marrow cancer and I live on the other side of the world. He's 80 years old. My mom is ok but needs my support. I have already left once for 3 weeks to help them and the kids were fine. My husband and them kept the house up fine. I don't know what to do and I feel like I'm stuck. What would you do?

Our friend is in her 30ies and we recently heard she had breast cancer. Since it spreaded, she had it removed not so long ago. Since, she's had some chimo but she looks really pale and sick. Yesterday, she had a really big fever and now she's in the hospital where she's hospitalized. She caught some virus because her imune system couldn't defend...
We'll all worried she might die. Anyone knows if there are chances for her not to?

And why is there no treatment? My mom just told me that her neice (my cousin) is dying of lung cancer...but she never smoked a day in her life (although I believe my uncle did.) I don't really know her all that well but it still makes me very sad. She's got a little girl with a disability and two other kids as well. I just dont understand how this happened!

I AM A CANCER REMISSION PATIENT, FROM MY YOUNG AGE OF 5. AM STILL LIVING WITH THE HELP OF MEDICAL SCIENCE. More than the physical pain, the mental pain, inflicted by the known persons, is really un bearable. Actually cancer is curable, but there are lots of pupil who give unwanted advise, and give the patient mental agony. Showing pity, and making them believe they are not going to live long. If any one had tackled please answer my question. THANK YOU

I remember vaguely reading about -what I believe- was a brilliant Russian scientist in the US who was on the verge of finding a breakthrough cure for Cancer. He mysteriously dissapeared shortly before he was to go public with his findings. Parts of his body later washed up in some lake. This sounds logical, the Pharmaceutical community would have stood to lose billions had he been succesful.

Is there any truth to this?

my friend is very poor, and she lives with her crackhead family in a rundown duplex while they smoke 3 packs of cigarettes a day, which she is forced to breath in through second hand smoke. she used to have medium blonde hair, but recently it started growing out dark brown, and you can still see the line in her hair where it changed color. As i learned it, cancer is caused by mutation of cells, and i was wondering maybe the cells for her hair color were mutated, and that it's a sign of cancer?

It seems that now (5 years later) his PSI levels are way up. Does anyone know of someone who has experienced this? If so, where did the cancer spread if any and what treatment did they use? Any articles, personal experience or related information would be very helpful. Thanks!

Okay, my grandmother just got diagnosed with Stage 3a lung cancer and I am looking for leading oncologists in california. I would especially like those who specialize in lung cancer if possible.

Does anyone have any tips or websites on where I should begin my search.

We are searching ONLY IN CALIFORNIA, but anywhere throughout California is fine.

Thank you!!

Any experience with any oncologists, good or not, would be appreciated as well.... =)

A very close friend was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer. You should know it is in the lymph nodes. She had tests completed, but we were not able to get the results for one reason or another. Then the physician left the country and went back to India for personal reasons. Nurses stated they could not provide us with any information and we needed to wait for Dr to come back. My friend just received a call Sunday evening from the physician stating that he wants her in for more tests (one is a "pet scan") because her test results showed she may have a spot on one lung and on her liver. We live in the Cleveland, Ohio area. I do not want to stay in her current network for this opinion given the above. The Cleveland Clinics is the best. Do you have any idea how we can get this diagnosis out of network? Standard cost for 2nd diagnosis? Any support groups that will help? I've searched internet and sent emails. Time is of the essence. In advance, THANK YOU FOR ANY GUIDANCE!!!!
