...Well, five years ago I was diagnosed as having cancer. Today, after the best treatment, loving care and "after-sales-service", that anybody could ask for, I was told by my Oncologist, Mr. Sykes, that I was "Cured". God bless the N.H.S.

The reason i ask is that my son who is 4 has Cystic Fibrosis, and the cost of his medicins add up to around £1000 p/m, that does not include his hospital treatment when he is admited, but i understand there are women who cant get breast cancer drugs, which could save there lives because of the cost
Please tell me about you good and bad experiences
I predict there will be more bad than good

Just wondering, is it possible for a tumor to be found both maligant & benign simataneously? A coworker of mine said he found out he had a tumor that is both after a biopsy and that it's very rare and has only been found in about 7 people since the 1970s. Has anyone else heard of this? I tried Google but didn't find much.

Hi,

For the last 2 years, I have occasionally felt sharp pains in my eft chest muscle, sort of like misplaced heart-burn - on the outside of my ribcage, not inside.

3 weeks ago, i woke up with very bad pain in my entire chest - once again, not internally, but in the muscles. Over the last 3 weeks, the pain has migrated from the center to the sides.

Just today i noticed this hard painful vertical ridge (abouut 2 inches long) has formed above my left nipple. It is very sensitive and sore to the touch.

Does this sound more like cancer or more like a possible blood clot? The "ridge area" feels kind of like a really hard vein.

I haven't been to a doctor yet, but for the last 2 years I have had occasional shooting pains in my left chest muscle. I lift weights a lot so I thought it was just soreness or maybe heartburn.

I noticed 4 months ago a small bump (like a small pea) near my sternum on my left chest muscle. I tend to get those little "fatty lipoma" things so I just figured it was that, but it did kind of hurt to touch it.

3 weeks ago, I woke up in the morning with severe pain in the middle of my chest - like the worst heartburn of all time, but I could tell it was in the chest muscle, not internal (my heart).

The pain spread over the last three weeks from my sternum to under my arms and much worse on my left side. Just today I was feeling the area above my left nipple and felt about a 2 inch long hard "ridge" that is quite painful to touch. (Like a vvery hard vein or something).

I am starting to worry and I don't have health insurance. What should I do? I'm thinking blood clot or worse.

I mean, do you really believe that cancer won't happen to you? I've heard many kids say "well I have to die sometime". Do you really feel that your life isn't worth living? And have any of you ever visited your local cancer agency?

Stats say after 60 rate goes up to 1 in 26, and by age 80 and above rates go up to 1 in 8.

Doc's don't really know what to do with this older pt. with CA, because they don't check their breasts, and if they find CA they don't want to aggressivly (chemo) treat due to the "you will die soon anyway, why treat"

I found a lump. It is hardly on my breast, but is on the border of the armpit and breast. My sister convinced me to get it checked out, and the doctor said it was just a gland and since I am younge ( i am 15) and small it is noticable. But the office was crowded that day and my sister and mother were't convinced. Is it normal to have a gland there that is that noticable (about the size of a large pea) or should I get a second opinion.
