she also is on oxygen alot during the day and is very weak. she orginially had soft molecule sarcoma diagnosed in August. In december it metastasized to both lungs. Can anyone tell me what to expect now???

That prognosis is not very good. Once cancer has metastasized it's difficult to manage.

Unfortunately, lung cancer is usually diagnosed when it is too late to effectively eradicate the disease. The one tool that may catch it earlier is the CT Scan, but insurance companies won't pay for the test which is expensive. My friend and her husband both were diagnosed. She had surgery and died within a year from pneumonia related to her weakened state from the chemo. Her DH died a few months after his diagnosis.

In the US, there is Hospice care for those who are terminal. The Hospice care is wonderful and very supportive of the patient and family members. Call your local hospital for contact numbers.

Take treatment as long as possible. That is the only way your friend can do. Because there is no other go.... pitty on him. He must start counting his days. At times regular treatment will give chances to increase the rate of his survival..
