no, a woman can not catch cancer from a man who has prostate cancer=for one thing ,he will be to sore and the woman you said that died from cancer could quite well have had another type for sometime without knowing it

You mean prostate cancer rather than prostRate, I'm sure. But no, it is not a transferrable disease. It's unfortunate that both of them had cancer, but their cancers were unrelated.
