You could do a Battle of the Bands type thing with local bands. That always works out and raises good money. Charge for admission, sell raffle tickets, get the local radio stations involved. There are tons of ways. You could even have it in you school gym. Also, not only do they need money for donations..but you could have a hat drive. Give the hats that are collected to a pediatric cancer hospital. Also, you could get together some friends with long hair and donate your hair to Locks of Love and they will make wigs out of the hair for cancer kids. The ideas are limitless! Good Luck and I think it's great what you are doing.

You've asked this before.
To really do this right, you need to contact the American Cancer Society. They will have many fundraising functions you can do. And when you are working WITH them instead of alone, people will be much more willing to donate because they know the money will actually be going to the ACS. Remember, there are a lot of scams out there. Get hooked up with ACS so everyone will know you are legitimate.

How about a 5 km or 3 mile walk for the kids. Try to get a donation from a spa and raffle that one off. You can maybe organize a dance at your school, make it theme night or a Hawaiin night with reggae etc.

Good for you! My son's school has done this a couple of times for various fundraisers, but one of the easiest ideas I've seen implemented, and also fun for the kids too, is to do a wear-your-hat-to-school-day and ask for a $1 donation from any child, child's parents or teacher to be allowed to wear a hat in school all day. We usually get a little flyer sent home letting us know of the hat-day, or my son's teacher just includes it as part of her weekly bulletin she normally sends home. You could also do flyers around the school to advertise your hat-day. Of course you'd have to get your Principal's permission first, but usually they are pretty cooperative with stuff like this, especially if it is a fundraiser that would encourage your peers to be more aware of the world and people around them. Good luck to you and hope your fundraiser is a success!

What about having a St Baldricks Day head shaving party? Google St Baldricks Day for they website.
Bakesales are good, movie night is a great idea, silent or live auction, etc...
Are you going to give the money to a local hospital, or St Judes or CureSearch?

If you know of someone that has a projector, you can do an outside movie on the side of a building and have like a drive-in/picnic movie. Sell hot dogs, chips, drinks and popcorn.
Encourage people to bring lawnchairs, blankets, and come in their jammies.
We do it for our youth at church and even the adults love it.

Why don't you try collecting aluminum cans? They have a high recycle value and are pretty easy to come up with. A lot of folks collect cans at work.
