I know the boxes say not to, but I've heard that combining treatments make the transition easier.

Yes, some doctors have suggested they can be used together...but probably you should use the lower doses if you do. With what we know about smoking now days...anything that helps you to quit is good. I DID!!!

Nicotine Patch And Gum Together

You need to talk with your doctor to combine treatments. Usually if you do, it is better to use lower doses of both. It isn't easy to quit and you really have to keep yourself mentally there. Don't beat yourself up if you slip up once in a while. I tried several times before I quit. I had the patch and there were days the tension & stress were so bad I ripped it off and lit up. Then I went back, said OK move forward. It has been over 4 years now and I don't look back at all. Good luck and you may not see it now but you will have a life without smoking.

No, because you'd be putting a lot of nicotine in your system, possibly even more than normal smoking, and that wouldn't help your addiction at all. Try regular chewing gum with the patch.

I say whatever works,BUT you would be doubling your dosage of nicotine, which defeats the purpose. I was wearing up to 3 patches and STILL smoking!! I found what finally worked for me and I've tried it all,(hypnosis, acupuncture, patch, gum) and smoked for 27 years was the "COMMIT" lozenges. I haven't smoked for 2 years now. BUT everyone is different, most people I know just went cold turkey. (I couldn't, the physical and mental strain was too much during detox). Good Luck to you,If you can make just 2 weeks you can do it.

Nicotine patches & gum should not be mixed as the directions say. You could really hurt yourself if you combine treatments. If you want to "double team" yourself to quit smoking why don't you try hypnoisis with your patch or gum. I know several people this has helped. Good luck.

It is really not a good thing to combine the two, it can cause damage to yor heart. You really should choose one or the other. The patches give you a large dose of nicotine as is and therefore cobining them with anything else is pretty dangerous.

If the box says not to then listen to it, or do what ever you want.
