I have known several people that haven't smoked for over 20 years and then end up getting lung cancer as they approach old age.

I was diagnosed with hypothyroid disease about a year ago. I haven't been taking care of it like I should. I've noticed for the past 4 months that when my period starts I am shaky and weak. The doctor thought this may be due to anxiety and put me on a med for it, but the "episodes" only seem to happen when I'm on my period. I know I need to take care of my thyroid, and I'm going to have the level checked next week but I just need some piece of mind because I feel not like myself and a little frightened.

I was recently diagnosed after an exam as having bacterial vaginosis and a yeast infection. After masturbating, I have found what was first a red and now golden yellow muscous which seems to be coming from my cervix. Could this be an STD, or is it a sign of the known infections?

I have had genital herpes for 18 years. I was first diagnosed when I got pregnant with my first/only child. I've had breakouts over the years and started taking acyclovir periodically. My menstrual cycle stopped 6 years ago and it seemed the outbeaks did as well. I married 5 years ago and my husband and I watched for signs of outbreaks and we had sex protected and unprotected. We thought everything was fine because he never had an outbreak. We refrained from him giving me oral sex but I did give it to him. A month ago he had a blood test and the disease is in his system. If we both take acyclovir will the chance of getting an outbreak decrease? Since he already has it in his system should we still use a condom all the time? Does it matter now? Can it get worse because we both have it in our system?

I volunteered for my nursing class and have been doing rotations in the hospital near my residence for 2 years. In the first year, i started getting boils on my vaginal area, and pubic area, shortly after accidentally walking in a isolation room to help a patient there. I have went to my family doctor about this situation and she only gave me antibiotics, (welfare clinic) which did not help the situation anymore or anyless. I know that i should go to a gyne. but you must understand how humiliating this must be for me, and to even engage in a relationship. After they do leave, they leave ugly scars or dark areas. Any one out there like me or similar? Please share Im hopless and scared....

Symptoms are: I hear myself breathe and speak loudly, but all other sounds from outside are dampened, as if I am underwater. My doctor AND a specialist looked inside but it's all clean, and my eardrums are NOT sucked inwards (which is the final symptom of a certain condition which apparently I don't have). At night my ears open up again. Sometime during the morning they block up, more often my right ear than my left but usually both. I haven't been able to figure out when it happens, it's always something else that does it. Occasionally my ears are open during the day too, but not for long and also in this case I haven't been able to figure out what causes them to open up. All standard 'unblock the ears' tricks like swallowing, yawning, blowing gently with the nose closed, etc. don't work. It's been like this for a couple of months now... Any suggestions? It's driving me nuts, I'm a musician!
