I have hypothyroidism on the low end and I'm wanting something natural. I have taken several prescrip med's for this but none seem to work for me. I have researched and found something but the U.S. does not offer this; Thyroid-Thru (from China). I'm currently taking kelp along with other vitamins and watch what I eat. I haven't tried over the counter pills that's offered without a prescip. Does anyone know if these work?

Hi,
I was recently diagnosed with Hypo and my dr. wanted to put me on Synthroid. I say NO WAY and have since heard of two "natural" remedies to take. One is called Metabolic Thyro (over the counter), and the other is Armour (natural prescription)...does anyone know anything about these and the difference, goods/bads? I am desperate for a solution without crazy side affects so any advice is greatly appreciated!!

ok so i have asked this severall times now not ever getting a good answer.heres the deal
for 3 years or more now i have been going to the doctor severall times for my sholder muscles always being tight, they are like rocks.
the doctor has given me a few options:
1. muscle relaxers -basically everyday forever
2. anti depressants - to help with the "stress thats causing the muscle to tense up"
3. physical theripy.
ok now here is my thing:
I dont want to be taking pills everyday, and i dont have the time to go to physical therapy i work 40hrs a week and i go to the beach on the weekends to relax. plus i dont have money to pay them or to keep refilling pills. plus i think that the muscle relaxers and anti depressants are just a bandaide.
I want a soulution to the problem.
I have tried massauge, in fact my boyfriend gives me a massauge every night for at least 10 min, the only relief i get from it is the actuall time his hands are on me. after the massauge it feels no diffrent.

I've decided to stop taking zoloft/sertraline and might change to a more natural pill (St. John's Wort perhaps) as to not have the side effects that came with taking zoloft/sertraline. I am detoxifying myself of the aforementioned medications by eating "detox" foods like grapefruit, blueberry, and drinking green tea. Hopefully it will work faster this way so I can get on the St. John's Wort.

I went for an intense hike on Sunday, now my calves are killing me and I'm having trouble up and down stairs. Even Tylenol and Aleve don't do anything. I want to do another shorter hike tomorrow and I'd like to not be in pain! I know about things like arnica & tiger balm creams, will try a soak later. I'm just looking for what people have found to work for them and what works the best of various treatments. (Teas, creams, herbal soaks, whatever.)

I plan on taking it for 6 months and then weaning off. In the meantime, my natural health practitioner says he'd like to support me with ADR Formula taking two capsules 2x per day. I just want to make sure that it won't have any adverse effects.

Here are the ingredients:

based on 1 capsule:

Vit C 15mg
Calcium panthothenate (B5) 100 mg
Panax ginseng extract (root) 200 mg
Eleutherococcus senticosus extract (root) 100 mg
Licorice extract (root) contains 12% glycrrhizic acid) 100 mg
Whole adrenal (bovine) 150 mg
adrenal cortex (bovine) 75 mg

I started getting acupuncture 2 or 3 weeks ago. I've done a TON of research on it and am very impressed w/ the variety of health & wellness issue it can help. My main ones are insomnia, anxiety, depression, ADHD, asthma, acid reflux, and irritable bowel syndrome. None are severe (thankfully!) although some are more problematic than others.

My question: within the last week, I've noticed my mood is lower than it normally is. It's not like I walk around crying, and I don't act bitchy. I just feel less happy than usual, a little bit "blue", and less motivated to do things. :( It's not severe, but I can tell it's different than my usual way of feeling.

My acupuncturist said stuff like this happens to some folks during their first few weeks of treatment, because changes are going on in the body that it's not used to, and sometimes that makes a person feel "unbalanced" (for lack of a better word).

Anyone else notice changes like this upon starting acupuncture? If so, for how long?
