Melotonin - I've been using it for 2 years with no side effects. It seems like the longer I use it, taking it about 1 hr before going to bed, the better I've slept. Before I started taking it, I couldn't sleep two hours in a row, now I sleep about 6 - 7 hrs.

I've tried lots of stuff and what works best (not always) but best for me is Valerian Root. It makes me sleepy when all else fails. Don't use alcohol, it makes you sleepy at first but wakes you up a few hrs later when it wears off and it disrupts your sleep cycle. I made a habit of this and it is part of my not sleeping problem. I'd stay away from prescription sleep aids if possible, they can be addictive and their effects usually fade.
Exercise but not too late at night, also don't eat too late at night. Try relaxation techniques also. When i'm relaxed thats when i fall asleep. Good luck.

Chamomile tea or Catnip tea. Chamomile seems to work great for females and Catnip works very well for males. You need to take it 20 mins before bedtime because it works fast. You can purchase chamomile tea in the grocery store isle were coffee is sold, catnip you can purchase fresh in the produce dept.
If you are wanting organic, fresh herbs, I buy mine from www.danesoap.com by the ounce and I bought a muslin tea bag to hold the herbs in while they are steeping in the water. They are now carrying a tea ball that is stainless steel that I plan to get on my reorder. Check them out.

I use Melatonin, helps establish Normal sleep patterns. 100% vegetarian. Most of the time I only take one. I dont take it every night, but it works well. You can get it most any place that sell vitamins and it is over the counter.

A clean conscience, ability to leave your work AT work, and no caffeine after 6 PM...earlier if you'r sensitive. Use your bedroom for sleeping only: no TV, eating, etc. And if that fails, then try the pills.

JCM,

Here's another vote for melatonin...if that is what you need.

You'll need to experiment with it, as to how much you need. More is not better with melatonin, as it can give you a headache.

So start with a low dose, one gm max, and work your way higher if needed, but increase slowly, because it seems to be somewhat cumulative in my experience.

I've found that 650 mgs of inositol, a B vitamin, also gives me a deeper sleep.

Herbs that also work without risk of a headache are valarian, hops and passion flower.

Sweet dreams!

Exercise before bedtime and a hot shower always puts me to sleep. For others, it works just the opposite. So you will have to see for yourself.

i don't comprehend approximately 'treatment' yet particular smells have different effects on human beings. attempt going to candle save or in case you needed to you need to bypass to a bath and Bodyworks and notice in the event that they have something it incredibly is seen a 'relaxing' sent. If that doesn't artwork you need to in basic terms browse the organic component of your well known save and notice in the event that they have something for rest.

anyway, there's the thing in turkey, can't remember the name of it though

then there's melatonin- that's what's in our body to make us sleepy. they extract it from pig's brains. i used it with good results for a while, but then i started getting headaches.
