I am going insane I've tried to tell her so many times that i am at a really low point and struggling with thoughts of suicde and she just never hears, she is so caught up in herself that she doesn't even notice the signs, when i try to tell her directly she can't stop for 5 seconds and hear me. How is it possible for my own mother to not even know? Just so you know, i am not in crisis at the moment i'm not going to do anything right now and i am seeking professional help, i still have thoughts but right now i am safe, just extremely frustrated that no matter how hard i try i can't seem to get anyone to hear me or take me seriously. What should i do?

I have always been prone to ear infections and as soon as I feel a bit coldy, one of my ears gets infected, sometimes both. It is sometimes v.painful and happens every couple of months. I have been told by my doctor it is due to bad eczema in my ears and there is no cure.

I have tried homeopathy and an allergy diet with no gluten, dairy etc with only slight improvement. Any one have any ideas at all? I'm desperate. Thanks.

I am trying to find date of my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary. Gran was in Newshame Hospital, Liverpool. She was put in plaster from beneath her arms to her legs. Has anyone an idea the length of time usualy spent in plaster in those years. The hospital gave them a party on the ward, so if i can find out how long her stay was, I might be able to find the actual date of marriage.

How much do we really understand about the way potentially harmful bugs work and what's the consequences?
Every day we work with high risk areas in respect of infection control and it's interesting to me just how little people really know.
The latest outbreak of Bird Flu in Norfolk has received a great deal of publicity and we are constantly reading about MRSA and Clostridium Difficile and how people are being infected in hospitals.
The trouble is that you can't see bugs so the perceived danger is very low. Overuse of antibiotics for many years has affected our ability to fight infections and bugs mutate and change constantly creating new strains.
If you could see bugs then awareness would be heightened.
As an infection control professional I spend every day alerting people to the risks associated with bacteria, viruses, spores etc.

I am having surgery tomorrow under general anaesthetic (a laparoscopy) and psychologically it would make me feel better to arrive at the hospital wearing some light makeup (powder, eyeliner and mascara) is this against hospital regulations?

I know nail varnish is banned but surely light face makeup can't cause any problems?

I am planning to join a Weight Watchers meeting. I have already a coupon to get the subscription free. However, their website does not say how much I need to pay for every meeting.... Do you know?
