I just got my period and I was wondering if I should use tampons or pads. And which brands or best. Ob, kotex, or what?

My friend and I are both 18 years old. We are both the same height 5'6" and the same weight between 125 and 130 lbs. The problem is that my friend is constantly concerned about her weight. She calls herself fat and is constantly startind new diets and then quiting them again. She asks my weight often and if I am even a pound heavier than her she says she needs to go on a diet. I think that my friend and I are both an ideal weight and I feel that she may develop a eating disorder. Am I right to be worrying about this? and should I consult some?

I went to the optician today and I need to get some glasses. I have some basic knowledge about ophthalmology as I'm about to be a doctor, so I know the basics about how light focuses on the eye etc etc. And I understand the basic concept of astigmatism and how the eye is shaped more lke a rugby ball than a football....

Anyway, my prescription from the optician is:

R: SPH -1.00 CYL -0.50 Axis 115
L: SPH -1.25 CYL - 0.50 Axis 90

I understand that it shows myopia in both eyes, left slightly worse than right, but what do the other numbers mean? It's something to do with the degree of astigmatism, but what do they actually show? And what does that mean in terms of my eyes?

ITs been hot here in old blighty for a good week or so but today it was much more humid and felt much heavier.

I ended up with a headache and a pal told me it could be due to pressure changes in the weather or somehting.

Anyone care to elaborate on this?

I follow a high-protein, moderate carb diet, drink lots of water. I work out 4 days a week with weights and do 30 minutes of cardio, but have a really hard time gaining muscle. Anyone konw of any good supplements that might help? I am 5'3", 114 pounds, want to be about 120 pounds and a little more muscular.

I had a thyroid ultrasound today. I started Levothyroxin on 6/9/06 because my count was up to 9. (I was told my thyroid was large when being checked for allergies and that got the ball rolling.) When I was leaving the hospital I passed a room where the radilogist was reading my scan (I heard him say my name and was turning around thinking someone needed me) When I realized he was reading the scan, I of course, hung around. He said it was enlarged but he kept saying "right side, solid mass". Would he use those words to simply describe the thyroid. I thought it was funny that the girl doing the scan stayed on the lower right side, almost under my collarbone, for so long. Thought? I can't call for results until tommorow.

My sister is dating a man who just told her he has Herpes. He said that he was diagosned with it 25 years ago but has never had an outbreak since then. No blood tests were ordered, I guess the doctor just looked at it and said that is what it was. Can you actually go 25 years with no outbreak??? Thanks
