I just got my period and I was wondering if I should use tampons or pads. And which brands or best. Ob, kotex, or what?

That is absolutely insane, do not listen to that person. If you use a tampon you ARE NOT taking your own virginity. It all depends on what your preference is. I would suggest using pads to begin with, Always is a good brand, and if you decide to use tampons try the smallest you can find, then work your way up if you need to. Good luck hun!

It is a personal choice. Every woman is different and has to make this choice for themslves. I alternate between both pads and tampons. The best brand I find are Always (pads), tampax compacts (tampons). I think you should talk about this to your mom though.

P.S. : If you use a tampon properly you will not take away your own virginity. Read the information that comes in a pack. This in a myth.

I would wait a little while before going into the whole tampon deal... Tampons are great for swimming and sports, so if you're very active in that area that might play a role in your decision. As far as brands go, Playtex Pearl (not what I use now, but would be great for a first timer), my mom always had Kotex in the house, but those suckers are huge by comparison and both do a great job.

okay start out with pads because it is probably relally heavy since your first got it, and if you use tampons since it is a heavy flow youll have to change it alot today, so it will be hard considering its your first time.. but for tampons use a plastic one not cardboard. cardboard hurts like a bioootchhh. but yeah if you dont like tampons use pads! kotex is good. dont get the sented ones they smell wrose and stink. and im acutally allergic to sented tampons so the first time i used one was not the best experince!!! hahaha soo just see which fits you best.

remeber not to sleep in a tampon. and insert it comforably so you do not feel it, and make sure when you insert it to much it a ltitle to the left (it slides in easier)

there is nothing wrong with useing a tampon. don't keep it in over 8 hours (like the box says) and if u put it in right u wont even feel it so don't fotget it's there. if u can't do it the first few times thats ok it's normal. (and don't beleave the box where it says flushable when cardbord) try both for a while. as for pads i like always. also what i did was looked up a guide on how to put it in on the internet.

when i first got my period, i used pads, i was scared of tampons, but then i was like "ok, pads totally suck" so i started using tampons, my fave is tampax pearl, but they're expensive so i usually just get the store brand as long as it has a plastic aplicator, in my opinion plastic is better. goodluck! welcome to womanhood!

User name "HeIsMyHappiness" is a complete idiot! Using a tampon will NOT cause you to lose your virginity. I can't believe some of the utter nonsence people post on here!
