Is this a strike through error on the "ss" in Tennessee and the "96" in 1796? Also, slightly on the first "2" in 2002.

I am beginning to learn to crochet, on making a granny square when I finish a round should I finish off or can I continue working the stitches if I want to make it bigger? I didn't want to make a lot of little ones, I just wanted to continue on that one square. I hope someone can answer my question.

As part of my Halloween decor, I'm making a swing out of 2x4 and some rope. I bought a ghostly skeleton girl, and was going to put her sitting on the swing. This whole set up is not big. Doll is maybe 1-1 1/2 ft tall, the wood for the swing is about 12-13 in. in length. Plan on hanging it in a window type space that seperates between my living room and kitchen.

I have already done the drilling of holes into the wood, looping rope through and under swing. Then at the top of the rope, where it will hang from a hook, I tried to loop and then wrap it around the rope going down. I tried a hot glue gun to glue the rope together where I thought needed, to keep it in place, but it's just not working. It falls apart, not sticking what so-ever. Its not a heavy or large rope, maybe 1/4 inch wide at tops.

Does anyone know of a better way to keep my rope intact? Anyone kow of sites that gives detailed instructions on rope tieing?

Thanks =)

I'm looking for some new hobbies to fill up my time (hobbies that require group stuff, --> needs to expand social circle).. I currently play basketball every single weekend (thats about 10 hrs a week), and recently started going to the gym 4 days a week. There is still a lot of spare time to be filled despite this.

P.S I'm not single and I'm not unemployed either if answers are going to be related to "go date someone", or "get a job"

P.P.S I'm 21years old, and still studying in University, but still heaps of spare time, so help me out here plz.

Has anyone ever worked with a product called 'balsa foam'?

I enjoy building vinyl / resin figure kits and a couple of the magazines I read suggest using balsa foam to make bases. Apparently it's soft enough to be carved and chiseled but ridgid enough to stand up over time and can be painted. I've not found a craft or hobby store that has even heard of the stuff, but I've found some sites on line which carry it.

In any case, curious if anyone had tried balsa foam and can give me a yea or nay on using it. I'm a fairly experianced modler, but haven't fussed with something like this before.

I have knitted a scarf. Its knit pearl and really long. Now that its completed its curling up on the edges. I have tried to block it, but it has not flattened out. it looks really weird, like a long tube. Does anyone know how I can flatten it out without ruining the scarf?
