A US Soldier in WWII would NEVER have had cash in that amount much less denonination. It is a FAKE.
It is important to understand that $100,000 Gold Certificates were intended for use in FISCAL CHANNELS (banks) ONLY. They were never issued for general circulation. The notes are strictly government property and are not legal to collect or own.
Of the 42,000 notes printed, there are no notes outstanding. In other words, all the notes that were printed are accounted for. The vast majority of 100K notes have been destroyed. Other examples can be seen from time when the Bureau of Engraving and Printing sets up their displays at major coin and currrency shows. All remaining survivors (like the examples mentioned above) are institutionalized. None are in public hands.
The $100,000 Gold Certificate is the highest denomination ever printed for all Federal paper money in the United States. The notes were dated Series of 1934 and a total of 42,000 units were printed. Depicted on the front of the note is Woodrow Wilson, 28th President of the United States. He served as President from 1913 to 1921.

It should be presumed to be counterfeit. There was a limited issue of that item and *all* of the issue is accounted for.
Maybe someone would purchase it. There's a saying about at least one such person born each minute.

The U.S. never made a $100,000 note the largest being $10,000 and they were never in circulation, but were used for bank to bank transactions. The last series was 1934B and they printed 24 of them. I am not sure what you have and would need to see a photo of it. Starting in he 1990's and continuing today novelty notes are printed as political statements as well as commemorating different events. As far as i know none were done in the WW II era. The treasury department was a little more picky back then about currency looking to real when it was a novelty.
