I have only dealt with JoAnn Fabrics and Crafts. They have stores all over the US and have on line shopping.

I have never heard of A.C. Moore, but you can find almost everything at Michaels for a decent price. I love Michael's and thats the first place I go to when i need craft supplies! Hope this helps =]

In my area, A.C.Moores is larger, and of course has more of a product. This store is great if you need large quantities of things, such as votive candle holders. They often have them as cheap as 3 for a dollar. They also honor the sale price of the other craft stores. Their stock of scrap booking items is much larger ( I don't do this craft, so I'm just telling you by what I see ). Michael's has wonderful holiday Halloween and Christmas Villages. They are just magical. More stamps at AC.Moores......I could go on and on. Each is a wonderful place for crafters. If you are as lucky, as I am, to have both in your area, use both. For holiday decorations, Joann's is the best. They usual bring them out at 20%-30% off.

I would have to say that AcMoore is much better, There people are a lot more helpful. The quality of the crafts are much better. But if you are looking for the Classy stuff Michaels is better.
AcMoore has people that seem to like there job and are therefor willing to help you out better. Michaels won't even try to find something to help you out. They seem to be trained that "they will be getting it in later in the week" And that doesn't happen.

I am only familiar with Michaels and their quality is excellent .Don't forget, you get what you pay for. I have been dealing for many years with marymaxim. They are a mail order catalogue store . Here is a link for you to browse and compare. At the bottom of the first page ot the site, there is a flag for American customers to switch over.

I have both locally and they vary. Some things are usually cheaper at one and other things are usually cheaper at the other. As mine are both in the same direction and not far apart I'll shop them both before buying anything just to make sure I get what I want at the price I want.
