I recently purchased a Singer SewQuick handheld sewing machine figuring it would make simple stitches faster and better than by hand.

Well, it does, when it isn't breaking the thread! For some reason I can only go a couple of inches at a time before the thread breaks and comes out of the needle. It is very fustrating. I have tried playing with the tension, tried different threads (Walmart cheap stuff and proper sewing thread, but it is the same issue.

I really don't want to have to sew this project (neck warmer) by hand!

I am using Polarfleece style fabric, if that makes a difference.

I am working on an animation movie using toys in a toy shop, but i need a backdrop peferably with 3 sides depicting the back of a toy shop aisle. the side boards will have images of shelves or even contain shelves with toys etc. Please state names of suppliers if you know them. ps I am on a limited budget, so the cheaper the better (minimum approx size 2ft)

Hey, i am a 14 year old boy.....

.....I have school during the day, and all day i can't wait to get home. Normally i used to play on my computer, nearly all night.

Since i came back from my holiday, i really do not feel like playing on the computer.

Tonight i tryed playing for a bit, but then stopped because i really did't like been in that room by myself.

So i went into the lounge o watch TV with my Mum and Sisters, but i find that boring.....

.....so i am pretty much bored all the time, what can i do?
(btw don't suggest moving my computer, because i really don't like playing on a game so much)

My husband is overseas and I would like to make him one of those "knotted blankets" for Christmas. But I'm not sure where to start or how to even do it. Though I'm sure it is pretty easy.

I have lots of Arts and Crafts Materials, with very little space, as I live in a one bedroom flat, and very little money. I've tried the usual cheap plastic boxes but so many little bits and bobs its hard to keep it accessible and in one place. And its driving me mad, as I have to try and dig stuff out. Any ideas I would be grateful.

I want to print some images from my inkjet color printer onto paper that would stick to a garmet bag that is plastic. I tried using heat set but I could not get the heat high enough to set the image without melting the bag. I have heard of photo transfer paper that has an adhesive that sticks to plastic that is not heat transferred but I can't find it. Ideas?

I want to make some paper mache pumpkins for next year and carve them out,but i have tried to make paper mache before using salt, and it molded anyway.I want something that wont mold and that is weather proof and will last.I would hate to spend all this time making Halloween decorations out of paper mache if its going to mold and if bugs get into it and ruin it.Does anyone have any tips?

I just started knitting, and started with the classic scarf. I am an extreme perfectionist and have started over from the beginning a couple times now so I feel like I have the hang of it. Now I want to try making stripes in the scarf, but I'm not sure how to proceed. I was told to just tie the two colors together and keep knitting, but the perfectionist in me doesn't think she'll like the knots that creates very much. So I did some research and saw that I could just leave a tail and weave it in later. Thing is, I don't know how to do that. I can't find a detailed description so I'm not sure how to proceed. Any input would be greatly appreciated!
Also, assuming I can figure this out:
Would the weaving in create weak spots in the scarf?
Would I be able to see this weaving in my pattern or would it make lumps?

Thanks!
