For Thanksgiving my family and I are having steak instead of turkey. (Only my immediate family can get together on Thursday, we're having the big shindig on Saturday at a relative's house). Anyway, we're having all of the traditional side dishes-- green bean casserole, corn casserole, etc. (except for stuffing--baked potato as a substitute.)

What's a good appetizer to make with this meal? I was going to make deviled eggs and/or sausage balls, but that doesn't seem appealing enough. I wanted something that was quick and easy. Any suggestions? Thanks!!!

My wife and I have for the past few years have been sending Cheesecakes to all of our extended family members. We have been doing Juniors cheescakes the whole time. Their cheescakes are very good and cost on an average about $40 each. This year we might want to change it up a bit. can anyone recommed a great cheesecake company that you think is better than Juniors, simular in price and that ships? thanks.

I bought a turkey breast two days ago and put it in the refrigerator instead of the freezer. It is defrosting, so I can't refreeze it. Is it safe until Thanksgiving? It is not quite all defrosted.

Its shape is just like an apple and its skin is off white. When I cut it open it is completely white inside, and its consistency is more like a pear than an apple. The taste is like nothing I have tasted before! It is awesome in my opinion!!

Please help me find the name of this fruit so I can know more about it.

Can I eat it, or should I just scrape the brown part off and then eat it? Will the brown part taste bad?

Thanks.

My family and I will be getting together with our extended family ( a total of 17 people, we eat like 30) and we will have the usual fare, turkey, potatoes, gravy and the like.

But with us 1 turkey isn't enough, so recently we have been trying to do a new method of cooking the secondary "reserve" turkey.

We have already deep fried, and grilled. I was wondering if any one had any other suggestions. They can't be too tough because the second turkey is the male project ( along with making a tower of miller cans and watching the packer game). I cook in a restaurant right now so I have some skill.

Some things I thought of were BBQ turkey, or jerk turkey (like jerk chicken.

I was hoping you all out there could give me some tried and tested turkey cooking Ideas. Thanks.

Now bear in mind, I did RINSE them under the water, i just didnt use any soap.

I never use the soap because its on the other side of the bathroom and besides the germs get killed off by the heat from cooking anyway.

Anyways my boss caught me one day and is now threatening to sack me which I cant afford since the restuarant is very well known and would look great on my resume.

Do you think my employer is being unfair?

"Coriander" sounds like what it is: a herb. "Cilantro" sounds like a pharmaceutical. What's the history of this wildly differing naming?

And no cravings! I accidently ate one half of a flake on Sunday coz it came with my coffee so it wasn't really my fault, it's just habit when you get free chocolate to eat it before someone else comes along...

Would you be able to go more than a week without chocolate??
