While browsing Tesco's the other evening, I noticed a row of tubs of Dairylea Cheese Spread. There was a big sign saying 'Now contains CHEESE!!!'

I've been eating this stuff for 30 years - what the hell did it contain before they added cheese?

I have been reading lately about how foods are processed. I had no idea about meat and dairy, and how unsanitary it is. I had no idea about genetically modified food. I had no idea how dangerous chemicals, pesticides, and artificial dyes and flavors are. Now, I am grossed out, and not quite sure what to eat. I consider myself to be intelligent, and wonder how I could have hit middle age without having clue about the foods I was eating. I am asking this to see if I am the only one who didn't know. For those of you who KNOW the truth about how nasty our food supply is, do you ignore it, or what do you do about it?

One of the meals that brings back memories for me is vegetable beef soup and grilled cheese. It was one of my faves as a kid and it just gives me that "kid like" feeling whenever I eat it. What about you? Be specific, please.

Iate last night, i purchased a small pack of chicken breasts from the market at like 7:45. It was already still cold. Well, something came up and i was unable to refrige it for a few hours, but i did have 2 very big ice packs, which kept it very cool. After a few hours I was able to refrigerate it. There was never a moment when the chicken was warm. It was like sandwiched between 2 ice packs. Do you think that it is ok to eat?

The store, that is...

I know they have meat... yes I do.

But before I take a trip there, do they have a variety of meatless vegetarian replacements? Like Boca, Morningstar, Amy's... etc.?

I need to find a place that does. My local supermarkets only have like burgers, and the natural food store by my house only has a few things.

THANKS!

I have to craete a menu for a school project and I dont really know how to go about doing it. What are the main things that I need to have? Its for a Restaurant. Its like a country fish place. What should the background be, or should i even have a background? A simple "times" font or something classy? What color should the text be? Oh, the menu is going to be a to-go menu.

half a tin of beans left, for example, we're advised to decant the contents into a plastic container instead of leaving the contents in the tin (covered or not) and storing it in the fridge. why exactly is this?

I never do the standard 70 second rule mind!! Toast the bun while the burger is cooking for about 50 seconds in the microwave, then put the cheese slice on for a further 20 seconds and bingo!!
