Hi!!
I am fond of any kind of pasta..
Need some recipes:

TRI-COLORED PASTA WITH SCALLOPS

1/3 lb. each of 3 different colors of dried pasta
1 stick butter
2 tbsp. shallots, minced
1/4 c. minced parsley
1/2 c. Parmesan cheese, grated
2/3 lb. scallops
1/2 c. heavy cream

Cook pasta in salted water until tender, about 10 minutes. Meanwhile, melt butter and add shallots and saute. Add parsley and scallops for 3 minutes. "Do not overcook." Add heavy cream and 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese. Serve on top of pasta with additional Parmesan cheese.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
ANGEL HAIR PASTA WITH SCALLOPS

2 tbsp. butter
2 lb. bay or sea scallops
2 shallots, finely chopped
2 c. white wine
1/4 c. chopped fresh parsley
1 c. heavy cream
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
2 (8 oz.) pkg. fresh angel hair pasta

If using sea scallops, halve them. In a large, heavy skillet, heat the butter and saute the scallops over high heat, shaking the pan often and tossing the scallops so they don't stick, for 2 minutes or until they are firm on the outside. Remove them from the pan.
Add the shallots and wine to the pan. Bring the wine to a boil and let it bubble vigorously until the wine reduces by half. Pour the cream into the pan with salt and pepper and simmer for 2 minutes. Add the scallops and any liquid that has accumulated around them. Turn off the heat and set the sauce aside.

SCALLOP SAUCE FOR PASTA

1 lb. scallops (bay scallops are fine here)
1/2 c. oil
1 tbsp. garlic, finely chopped
1/4 tsp. (or a little more) red pepper flakes
1 lb. pasta
2-3 tsp. parsley
Salt and pepper to taste (about 1/2 tsp. each)
Unflavored fresh bread crumbs, sauteed in oil

Saute garlic in oil and add parsley. Add scallops and cook just until opaque 3- 4 minutes. Pour over pasta and sprinkle with bread crumbs.

I am a vegetarian but got some recipes in my collection, so I dunno how much they cost...

But I hope u enjoy eating your Scallop Pasta!!!
Happy Cooking!!!!!!!!

I personally love scallops, but only bay scallops. They're tiny, kind of a sweet seafood, and they cook fast. And they'll be cheaper than sea scallops or the U-10s. The bigger they get the more bitter they get. I think I pay about $6-$7 a pound for bays, and up to $12 a pound for the gigantic ones which tasted horrible.

Since this is your first try with scallops, I'd go for bay scallops. I wouldn't want you to get turned off of them if you got the bigger bitter ones.

There are different kinds of scallops - there are the little bay scallops and the larger, often "dry" scallops. I prefer the larger ones. You can just put them in with the pasta - they cook up VERY quickly. You can coat them with salt and pepper and fry in oil with tarragon and thyme and butter for a yummy version.

Again, they cook up REALLY quickly. The biggest injustice is that people overcook their scallops. The bay scallops I'd toss for 30 seconds with hot pasta and serve - they'd probably finish cooking while sitting in the bowl. The larger ones, a bit longer - go for where they're changing from translucent to opaque, but it should only be a minute or two.

Scallops have a slightly sweet taste and go quite well with pasta. They range in price from $4 pr/lb up to $8 pr/lb. And they only take abot five min.s to prepare (that is the Scallops not the whole dish.)

If the scallops are grilled and properly sealed and of course as fresh as possible, they are divine, think a combination between a mushroom and Halloumi cheese in texture but with the taste of lobster and baked potato

Scallops are delicious! They have a mild flavor, and if cooked properly, the texture is amazing. Unlike any other food. The price will vary widely based on where you live-if close to the ocean, you can get them for less. My favorite way to cook them is to pan sear them in butter and olive oil, then drizzle with fresh lemon, fresh ground pepper, and fresh herbs. You have made me hungry now!

Scallops are brillant! They used to be cheap 50 years ago until we British decided they were ok. Expensive now. Delicate fish flavour. Used to be served with bacon when still cheap enough for us oiks to buy.

If you are doing them with pasta suggest include crisy bacon & a light cream sauce. Not cheese, as I said, scallops have a light flavour.

scallops have a bit of a strange taste...I think you either love them or you don't....I would just try pan frying a couple to see if you like the taste rather than going to the trouble of making a whole meal that you may not eat...good luck
