While browsing Tesco's the other evening, I noticed a row of tubs of Dairylea Cheese Spread. There was a big sign saying 'Now contains CHEESE!!!'

I've been eating this stuff for 30 years - what the hell did it contain before they added cheese?

I never buy dairylea but always assumed it was cheese, my food puzzlement of the day comes after seeing an add for birdseye soya frozen peas. What is the point of them, surely peas are better for you and are acceptable for veggies/vegans so just what is the point?

I don't know what Dairylea is, but I don't eat fake cheese. I eat the cheese in grocery that is Colby ,or mozzerella, or cheddar, or other similar. No, cheese products, that is fake cheese. I don't eat margarine which is fake butter either. I like to know what I'm eating.

haha. i think before they probably hadnt conformed to the process needed to label it cheese. and now they do. previously they probably just used milk and a mixture of other things which tasted cheesy but couldnt technically be called cheese. and now they actually add ACTUAL cheese to it. not TOO scary! dont worry too much. im sure it still contains nasty E-numbers though...

i like to consume rice with different issues. i can consume macaroni & cheese by itself yet i can't mac & cheese for all time because of severe ldl cholesterol. SO - i admire the rice suited.
