I was wondering if you could buy fish from Wal-Mart (I live like 15 miles from the coast, so the fish I think is fresher that from the Wal-Mart's in Tennesee or something) and use it for sushi. If so, what do I do to make it clean enough?

Say if you bought a package of ham from the supermarket, the cold aisle, (mix of smoked ham, turkey ham, pastrami), and you forgot all about it until a week after expiration date, do you think it's still OK to eat it? Esp. if you don't smell anything or it doesnt look bad?

i watched Hogan Knows Best the other day. they moved into a neighborhood that had a lot of Jewish people. they wouldn't eat anything, unless it was "Kosher Foods". i know they explained that the foods had to be raised a certain way, and the animal meat had to be prepped in a certain way.

so what is Kosher food, and is it healthier then what non-kosher food?

Help!!! I desperately need to change my diet. My mother did not know how to cook and fruits and veggies could not be found anywhere in my house growing up. My Grandmother force fed me these things and I can not repress the gag reflex when I try to eat fruits and veggies. I am 27 and th most I can eat is corn, green beans, peas, and potatoes. Not very healthy. Please no jokes. This is serious. My health is at risk here, but I just can't eat right cuz I hurl if I try!!!!!!

i am trying to start eating fruit for breakfast every morning, but i dont know how long some specific items will keep if i store them in the refrigerator. specifically i am wondering about mangos, strawberries and Kiwi. i know strawberries are probably the shortest life span, but i dont know much about unsliced kiwi or mango. any other suggestions on fruits and how long they keep would be WELL appreciated.
