REAL black or green tea is good for you as long as you don't add too much sweetener. They just showed that black tea without milk is a lot better than with, since the milk proteins mess up the antioxidants.

Iced tea from a store or a bottle is pretty much crap, though. You're best off making it from scratch in the fridge.

The reason that green tea is good for you in because it raises metabolic rates and speeds up fat oxidation. In addition to caffeine, green tea contains catechin polyphenols that raise thermogenesis (the rate at which calories are being burned) and hence overall energy expenditure.

Iced tea is does not have this same effect. Actually most regular iced tea products are as bad for you as a soda. Now, if you brew your own or drink diet or unsweetended, then it is a different story. However, if you are looking for the benifits I explained above, stick to the green tea!

Yes, iced tea made from green tea has just as many antioxidants in it as hot green tea does.

All tea has antioxidents in it. Ice tea has the least, followed by green tea, then white tea, which has the most. It all helps.
