I have found jams & fruit home canned in mason jars as old as 10 - 15 years, in basement. Is it still any good. p.s. I've heard in bomb shelters canned food can last for up to 30 years. Anyone Know?

Separating truth from fiction, root from leaf. Is it possible for cilantro (Chinese parsley or whatever other derivatives are used for the word cilantro) to detox heavy metals from your body?

I've heard that cilantro and chollera(sp) will provide doubly good chelation than either of the two alone; which is to say, more money for the cholllera (if it is cheap, than I stand corrected).

Any ideas? I'm off to the supermarket with this one! Don't hold your breath for any results.

I'm from Chicago, so my favorite kind is thin and crispy Chicago pizza, cut into squares (not the nasty deep dish or stuffed stuff the tourists eat downtown).
I was reading on wikipedia about all of the different styles of pizza available in the US today, and got curious as to which ones might be good.

I was wondering which one is more unhealthy.

If you're eating instant noodles everyday for a period, would it brings more harm to you than having miss out breakfast all the times but having healthy food like oatmeals and grains late at 3-4pm something as lunch while taking the usual food at night.

I've found that the Granny Smith apple is a little tart for my taste. What's the best or sweetest apple to snack on? I won't be making any apple pies with them, just eating them plain...

I swear,I feel so stupid for asking this. ...but we never had anything pan-fried at home when I was growing up. We ate more along the lines of the more 'healthy' lifestyle of the early 90's/late 80's. That's to say: Few nights at fast food places, dinners usually at sit-down restaurants if we went out,ice cream or homemade chocolate chip cookies for dessert... that kind of stuff.

...This leaves me with NO IDEA as to what to do with the potatoes once they're grated. I still don't fully grasp the idea of kraft macaroni and cheese as opposed to simply buying macaroni noodles and throwing cheese on them... ^^'

...So be kind? I'm still not used to cooking the way most americans eat nowadays.

I've found a lot of recipes for Chicken Saag, Beef Saag, all sorts of Saag, but haven't been able to find out just what the heck Saag is! I can understand that it is a sauce or kind of medium that the food is simmered in but what are the ingredients? Or do they change depending on the meat? Maybe Saag is a generic term for stock?
