I'm from Chicago, so my favorite kind is thin and crispy Chicago pizza, cut into squares (not the nasty deep dish or stuffed stuff the tourists eat downtown).
I was reading on wikipedia about all of the different styles of pizza available in the US today, and got curious as to which ones might be good.

I love pizza with a pesto sauce instead of a tomato sauce - it adds much more flavour.

in Italy I really loved the potato pesto pizzas
but I love just about anything on pizza

:)

If thin and crispy square cut pizza is your favorite... that's what "St. Louis style" pizza is... Imo's is the most well known around here, but many restaurants and bars serve this type of pizza.... and heck it's only a 4-5 hour drive from Chi-town. Try Imospizza.com (there's a link where some company will deliver to anywhere in the US). Not my fav (as I'm a fan of deep dish Chicago style personally), but around here, Imo's is the "square beyond compare".

I live in the Detroit area, so my absolute favorite is Buddy's Pizza! I love the square style, the order in which they put their toppings...any/every thing on the dough, then the cheese, then the sauce. The flavors bake through to the dough...YUMMY!
This is comfort food for me since I grew up eating it, sometimes I can't get enough. If you are ever here, find a Buddy's Pizza and give it a try, I think you'll like it.

Thanks, now I know what I'm having for dinner tonight!

I like deep-dish pan, NY style, and stuffed crust. California style pizzas are good too.

Regular Crust...its called the potato pizza. It is wonderful. It has ranch, potatos, cheese, and bacon. Like a loaded potato. It may sound gross, but it is out of this world.
