At our local grocery store, which is part of a national chain, I've noticed that for every popular product they carry, they have their own brand of this exact same product. The quality of these products are exceptional and with the exception of their cola, tastes exactly like the brand name.

I know a lot of corporations sell their products under another label.

What I'm wondering is would this be why all their products taste the same as the original, or would they have their own R&D and develop their own products that taste like the original?

Hi

when we see the ingrdients of products. It says that the energy provided by them is x(Kcal). Does Kcal means Kilo Calories? If not what do they exactly mean? How should we interpret it for calculating our daily consumption?

Anyone from Mexico, a question about coffee...?
When My hubby and I were in the Yucatan (2000) for our honeymoon, I noticed that the coffee (BLACK!) was rather sweet. In fact, it's the only time in my life when I preferred to drink it black. Is this a particular brand of coffee, or is it brewed with sugar, or ...? I would love to try to make it like this at home.
I posted this earlier and got no response, so any help would be awesome!

One of the best I've ever tasted is called Licorice Spice. I've also had a very similar tasting one, but I don't know the name of it. It was some special blend from India.

I also find Japanese mugicha really refreshing. It's often drunk cold in the summer. Yum!

Always wondered why a new container of sour cream never has liquid on the top, but after you spoon some out, the next time you take it out of the fridge, there is always is.

I thought I saw my mom doing this when I was younger, but I'm not sure. Are you supposed to rinse all poultry before preparing or only if it's a whole bird (not just breast or thighs)? Or do you do it at all? If so, what is the purpose? Your input would be helpful!
