fill it full of white vinegar and run it through as if you are making coffee -- if your water is that bad, you may want to consider buying jug drinking water to make your coffee

I suggest that you stop wasting money on those cheap old coffee makers and buy yourself a BUNN. You may need to save up a bit as I don't know what your financial situation is, but it's well worth the expense. We bought our BUNN for like $90-$100 a few years ago. It comes with it's own special "reamer rod" (that's what I call it) that cleans the mineral deposits out easily. My mom has had the same BUNN coffee maker for 10 years so far! Really it's a great investment if you're a regular coffee drinker.
Other than that...run a few cycles of vinegar through your coffee machine, and then run clear water through a few times, but always use a filter so that all those nasty sediments don't settle into the pot itself, cuz that's a nasty clean up job for sure!

Why don't you go to the manufacturer site and order just a new hose not a whole pot...
By the way, the french press gives a much better full flavor to any coffee and can be bought at a starbucks for under 30.00
All you have to do is put in the coffee, then hot water...let sit 5 mins and press down the handle...perfect coffee every time!!!

Every bodies answers are spot on. The only thing I would add is do the vinegar cleaning every couple of weeks to keep the build up to a minimum. I live in a very hard water area too and it is murder on everything including my hair.

No to sure what you are asking......I put cascade dish washing power, where
your would put your coffee in, full it up with water....I do that two times, then put clean water in with out cascade, and that that perk.......
I comes out looking new!!!!! and even the coffee taste better.
Sincerely, this helps a bit...wow...new coffee machine every 2 to 3 months.
Sure that gets expensive.....I do not know what type of coffee machine you have. Why not buy a regular percolator......That would save you money,
and clean it with cascade........perk it with cascade in it, as I said earlier....
Don't really know a coffee pot with a hose? commercial?
