There was a Chinese buffett restaraunt near my house and it closed down a few years ago when they were caught recycling food. You know, whatever people didn't eat, they would mix it into the buffett table. Are you concerned that restaraunts do this to cut costs down and earn a better profit margin?

I have some chicken and hamburger meat in the freezer (regular kitchen type), and I'm wondering how long it will stay "good" for. I think it was purchased in June (its now September).
Besides the taste not being great, is there any other down side or something to be worried about?

I've got a real foodie to buy a gift for. It should ideally be organic, or FairTrade, but has to be pretty special too. I was thinking posh olive oil, but has anyone got any better ideas/ recommendations?
