I live in a rather damp area, which is probably the reason, but I can't do anything about that. Apart from moving, any ideas?

Add rice to the mix. It will absorb the moisture, but won't fit out the holes.

I take it that you don't live in the South. Of course, you may not live in America at all. Anyway, put some rice in the shaker with the salt. It will keep the salt from caking.

I too live in a humid area South East Costal Texas. Put uncooked rice in your salt shaker. It really works!

use Tupperware containers or the zip lock containers. put small amounts of salt in a few containers. also you can put some rice grains in the salt shakers and it will absorb the water. they are too large to shake out.

add about 15 -20- grains of white, uncooked rice to your salt. The rice absorbs the water & lets it flow better...
