My neighbor's mother owns a farm and he brought me approx 2 lbs of fresh green beans along with smoked ham hock. I snapped off the ends of the beans and put it all in my crock pot with onions and seasoned it with pepper and crazy salt. Did I do this correctly? Any suggestions?

My son is a bright, articulate Marine who has always enjoyed cooking as well as Emeril and other cooking programs. He returned from Iraq 4 months ago and he and his wife now reside in CA as he continues in the Marine Corps. For their first anniversary he received a new grill and I just thought it would be a great surprise to receive some instructions/tips from an expert. Since he's in CA, I thought he might be in a good location...

I am seeking some ideas on what to cook my family at meal times as we are sick of eating the same old meals, my family include myself (vegetarian), my partner (meat eater) and my two year old daughter (meat eater), oh and my 5 month old daughter who doesnt actually eat solids yet.
At the moment we differ meals every day, including, spaghetti bologaise, pasta and sauces, vegetables with mash and meatballs or hot dogs(or veggie burger for me), quiche, pies, salads, cottage or shepards pie, fish with vegetables, as well as the basics now and then such as chips or waffles. plus other stuff which is not much interesting. can anyone give me any meal ideas or recipies which are just basic as i dont have a lot of time, or even which i can freeze, but we dont eat ready meals though! thanks, any ideas welcome.

I already have a kitchenaid which I guess makes it easier too but I haven't tried to make bread before and it sounds like a lot of work. Fresh bread from the store gets too expensive especially since it goes bad in a day or so and I miss my mom's homemade bread.

Hi Everyone,

I just bought 4 fresh ears of corn, and I was wondering if anyone has some great recipes?

I don't have a bbq grill, but I love the smoky taste it gives the corn. Is there another way to get it to taste so good?

Thanks!

I want to mold some items I do not want to use gum paste or fondant. But I have no idea if you can put royal icing in a silicone mold. Does it work? Will they break when you try to get them out?
