there are some people who are gonna come over to my house for a barbeque soon and most of them are older than me. im the only girl in my family so i'm stuck with having to entertain em and keep em in my room. i don't even know if i'll get alond with them well enough. some1 have any suggetions?

I suck at this kind of stuff and suck at cooking - thats my opener. I'm having a 40th bday party for my husband. Planning on about 50 people.
So I want to keep things simple & not break the bank.
Thinking - Appitizers - Ordering extra large taco dip tray, cheese/sausage tray and pinwheel tray. Making deviled eggs.
Meal: ?????????????? order ham & beef & serve hot for sandwiches?????????????
Drinks: 1/2 barrel beer, soda & wine

Do i need more - other suggestions? What about for the meal??

HI everyone.. Thought this would be a fun project for us here on YA because just a few minutes ago I read a question where someone asked if veg*ns can eat "jelly" Now, I have never referred to "Jello" as "jelly" But I THINK they do in England..

Anyway I think we'd benefit from our own little "u.S" to "U.K" dictionary. I'll start with two I know

"cookies" in U.S. are "Biscuits" in U.K.
"Biscuits" in U.S. are "scones" in U.K. (kinda)
"Sausage and mashed potatoes" In U.S. is "bangers and mash" in U.K.

Come on!! Those of you who know bi-continental English.. help us out!! Add some!

You should have SEEN the face of my Aussie friend the first day she arrived in America.. She asked what was for breakfast and we told her "biscuits and gravy!" LOL wish I could have captured her face...

i love the egg fried rice from our local take away, but the curry is not so nice...but try as i might i can not make the rice taste anything like it, so i wondered..if i brought just the rice (it comes in a foil container) could i freeze it to use when i make my own curry, and if i can how would i reheat?

any advice would be great.
