I'm on a diet but I'm also the only one willing to cook for celebrations in my family and I would feel horrible if we went without a birthday cake or something when one was in order. Anyway, I'm on a calorie limit and I just can't help but break it every single time I cook for the family!! I've tried eating before I start cooking, making a lot of salad to go along with the meal so I'll be less tempted to eat other stuff, NOTHING WORKS! I really want to lose six pounds, does anybody know how I can do this??

My son is 10 years old and is very pickey. He has been declining meat since he was 2. He really doesn't like beans either. We just had a family get together on Sunday with plenty of Barbeque ribs and chicken, there was also fried fish. He wouldn't touch any of it, he only ate baby carrots. I don't know how to make sure he's getting the nutricion and protiens he needs because I don't have contact with any vegetarians to ask what would be good to feed him. He did try vegetarian bacon the day before and liked it, but I can't give him that every morning. What are some other things a child might like that would supply his body with what it needs?

My German grandmother use to make this all of the time and she called it 'German Noodles', although it was not made with noodles but potatoes. The custard on top of the potatoes was made with egg, milk and a little bit of flour. And you pour hot raspberries on top. Sometimes in Germany, peaches or apples were used instead.

My son currently only drinks non-dairy formula. He is at step 2 for solids. I've mainly been giving him rice cereal, fruits, veggies, oatmeal and then formula. I've been told that babies need whole milk not only for calcium but because the fat in it helps with motor skills or something like that. We are also trying to stay as fresh and raw as possible as well. What would a daily diet look like for him? How does the food pyramid look for our lifestyle? Thanks!

I have heard 2x this week alone that a Brown Cow is vanilla ice cream and root beer. That is how I've always made my Root Beer Floats. Is there a difference or is it just a regional name difference. I am in SC, but my dad grew up in OH and CA and also calls the same concoction a "Float."

I know you can also swap soda flavors and/or ice cream flavors for various combinations, but I was curious about this one.

Can some one tell me the difference between Campbell "Select" and Campbell "Chunky" soups?

I have eaten them both and I can not seem to figure out the difference in them? Is it just some kind of marketing ploy?

I have found one or two places on the web, all expensive imports. Is there an American company that makes dried sausages like Chirico and Charizzo?

I have some lamb chops (less than an inch thick). I want to roast them with rosemary and possibly mint or thyme?? I want to keep it simple.

How long do I cook them for, and at what temperature? & what is the best way to prepare them?

I don't want to fry them.

Any suggestions would be great!

I am throwing a childrens party this summer but thought it would be nice to give the adults there some wine. How many bottles would I need to buy to give 27 adults 2 glasses each? I am on a tight budget. Also any other general party planning hints would be much appreciated!
