Fresh roasted, any which way. Anything out of the can is swill, and sometimes I think Starbucks wouldn't know a decent roast if the buyer sat in it.
My favorite blend is Peruvian Femenina Fair Trade, from Cuppa Joe's in Chapel Hill. They roast onsite, I make sure I never buy anything more than a couple of days old, and use it within the week. Fresh roasted coffee is not bitter or acidic like canned coffee, and doesn't need the cream and sweeteners, though enhancing the flavor is nice sometimes.

If it's early a.m. at work then I take it anyway I can get it! Hopefully w/ a little cream n sugar though. At home I throw some Coffeemate in it, they have tons of yummy flavors; favorite this week is Pralines n Cream.
If I'm really treating myself to a caffeine drink, I go for a Turtle latte from Caribou, mmm.
