Can some one tell me the difference between Campbell "Select" and Campbell "Chunky" soups?

I have eaten them both and I can not seem to figure out the difference in them? Is it just some kind of marketing ploy?

i think its a marketing ploy but chunky referes to the chicken and veggies being "chunky" and select is supposed to taste like you have just made some delicacy

Chunky is supposed to have bits of food stuffs that are, well, chunkier! Select is supposed to make you feel like a gourmet. Personally, I think they are both pretty gross and much prefer homemade soups.

Oh, and yes, I think it is all just a marketing ploy.

The Campbell's Select are supposed to be more specialty soups.

Chunky are concentrates; you add water. Come in a can.

Select is ready to eat, out of the can. Just heat up. Do not add water. Come in a glass jar.

Plus, the varieties are different. The Select seem to be a bit more upscale (Butternut Squash) that you'd never see in the concentrates! But yes, most of it is marketing!!!

I think the "chunky" soups are suppose to have a thicker broth than the other soups. The "selects" have a watery broth.

Your question showed in my "network's Q&A". How refreshing to not see a political question. lol.

So...to get to the point. Isn't Chunky supposed to uh well be more chunky? Both aren't that good anyways. I'd rather go to Quizno's and get their chicken noodle soup.

:o)

Probably marketing, but I've got a sneaking suspicion that the select is lower in sodium or fat or calories or something like that.
