I am hosting a small get together (Fruit, cheese and wine sampling) and absolutely hate bitter wine. (Even White Zinfindel is too bitter for my palette.) I wanted to get something for myself, but most wines are not as tasty as I would like. I would prefer to just drink some good dark ales, but I am in the minority here.

I want something very sweet. I just might have to use grape juice if I can't find something else and just "pretend."

Hi,
I had a question about using cow manure as fertilizer. I have seen some slightly conflicting rules as to the use of manure. Specifically, does the manure need to be composted for the typical 2-3 months before being used?

Some sources have referred to using "fresh" manure. I thought there was a requirement for farms to have livestock separated from any food crop because of the worry about getting food contamination from the animals. Can you clarify?

I have a cheesecake recipe using 6 oz Graham cracker crust. I now want to use mini graham cracker crust pies. The original recipe told me to bake for 40 mins at 350. How long would I want to bake the mini cheesecakes? Thanks!

If it’s the inhumanity of slaughter houses that bother most vegetarians, what’s wrong with hunting? Just because someone is not a vegetarian doesn’t mean they condone poor slaughter habits/processes. But is it viewed by vegetarians to be wrong to obtain your own food (meats, not a veggie garden) through self sufficiency? If that (slaughterhouse issues) is one’s reasoning for being vegetarian, why go all the way rather than (for example) eat your neighbor’s venison?
I have chosen (what I feel) to be a healthier way of life (for me), not being boxed into what everyone else thinks is right or wrong. I eat meat, seafood, poultry, lots of veggies; but nothing in excess. I am a realist, not extremist. I know of some veggies that won't eat things cooked on the same skillet as burgers and such. Please help me understand the extreemist attitude against all meat eating without beating me up for it. I've found I must walk lightly in this catagory or I get nasty remarks.

id like to cook something for my girlfriend, its our 3rd year anniversary! the only problem is, i dont know what to cook with my somewhat strange resources! i always cook the same thing for her - tomato based pasta sauce my mum taught me! as you can tell by my screen name!lol my mums in italy so i cant ask her4 recipe :'-(

in my fridge/draw i have...

onions
garlic
tinned chopped tomatoes,
passata
tinned sweetcorn
3 bell peppers, capsicums (2 green and one red)
indian spices
chillies
tomato ketchup
fish fingers
spaghetti
arborio - risotto rice
basmati rice
uncle bens packet rice
chedder cheese
worcester sauce
tabasco
salsa
some salsiccia piccante (napoli salame)
basil - fresh
a tin of chick peas
a loaf of bread
some tortillas
maybe a pack of nachos
plain flour
sugar
honey
a tiny bit of red wine
black lentils
and 2 bananas that are going a bit brown!lol

ofcourse you dont have to use all of these ingredients!

2 courses would be AMAZING

All together we will have 9-10 kids at the house, what can I do to amuse them without driving us crazy. We have a playset for my 4 year old and plenty of toys but I'm afraid that will only last so long..please help!! i made it from
3 yolks
3/4C lowfat milk
3/4C heavy cream
1/2C syrup
3tbsp sugar

then i let it sit fir an hour and it is still liquidy!

:(

and i dont know wheter this is good or not but i put too many butter and water in the pie shell and it is way tooooo flaky.

now i have too flaky pieshell with liquid custard.

:(

they are in the fridge now........dont knw wat to do until tmrw my frnd willc ome and help me eat it becoz i cant cut it we have to eat it by spoon directly from the ceramic oven dish becoz its liquidy and too flaky! >.<
