The first thing that came to find was rack of lamb because that looks like a king's crown LOL

Think when you go to his home or to a restaurant what he eats. Expand that and make something fun and simple so you spend more time chatting than in the kitchen

For the birthday cake, be very creative. How about cupcakes with different toppings and each one has a little toy from the store that represents royalty.

It depends on what kind of person he is and what he likes. If he is not stuck up some good ol' sloppy joe's will do. If he is a big guy that loves the outdoors, a big ol' juicy ribeye steak. If he is the kind of person who will try anything take him to eat some sushi. If he is a kinda stuck up, a meal with pink salmon and white rice will do it right. Like I said it all depends on the kind of person he is.

My family name is King...lots of Wayne's, Joe's, and even a Smo. Why don't you just ask him? I would make a super fun party where you "make a meal fit for a King..." Make it just super extravagant, with h'or d'ouerves, rich main courses, and rich dessert. You could make him wear a crown, and have the other people at your dinner call him only King Joe. Have fun, I am glad you are honoring someone with that name!

Well 6/7 is my hubby's B-Day and I will make him a grilled shrimp dish his likes with a salad. I will also make him cupcakes to take to work. He drives a senior bus and takes goodies to the ladies. He likes to be surprised and he like to give surprises. Happy Birthday Joe King!
