My in-laws are coming for lunch on Saturday and I want to make chicken salad. I usually put grapes or cubed apples in it, but am wondering what else I can put in chicken salad. By the way, raw onions of any kind are out (Mother-in-law doesn't like), green peppers are out (Father-in-law doesn't like). They also don't like any "wierd" flavors, so curried chicken salad is out. They also don't like anything hot/spicy, including black pepper. HELP!!!

I have heard that the salt will break down the oil faster. I researched that adding salt to cooking oil will decrease the smoke point, causing the oil to burn faster. Is this true?

We were having a birthday party for my grandfather's 80th birthday and we wanted to put 80 canles on the cake, but we weren't sure of how to ligth all of the candles without burining the cake or having the first lit candles all burnt out by the time the 80th candle is lit.
