I have some family members that are away at college, and won't be able to make it home for Thanksgiving. *sigh* Well, to cheer them up, I wanted to make some home made snacks and ship it to them. Obviously, it can't be something that has to be refridgerated, but are there any snacks that can be sent through the mail? Any ideas would be great, just as long as they are snacks that would remind them of Thanksgiving! Thanks!

What are your favorite vegetarian recipes that are easy to make? I'm in college and I don't have too much time to spend on cooking (or much money to spend, for that matter).

When I bake a cake, it's really high in the middle and thinner along the edges. What causes this and how can I prevent this? Do I have to trim off the edges? I'd end up with a small cake!

I am allergic to alcohol, which really sux! I was wondering if I could get drunk drinking energy drinks? I know drinking is bad for you but I would like to get drunk and have fun with my friends once in a while. I am not planning to drink and get drunk regularly but it would be nice if i could have a drink with my friends without looking like a red beet. Is there a way where i could get drunk without alcohol? Don't say anything like weed, drugs, or anything like that?
Would 12 red bulls work? lol

Here is a recipe a friend sent me through email.
Ziplock omlettes.
They are very easy to do adn the kids enjoy helping.
Get out the ziplock baggies.... crack open two eggs per baggie then add you igredients of choice. I use shredded cheese and bacon the stuff you buy cooked and broken up already. Add 1 -2 tbl spoons of each to each baggie. clos ethe baggie give it a shake to mix everything up. open a corner of the baggie and squeeze all the air out. zip the baggie closed. place the baggie in a pot of boiling water for 13 minutes. Take the baggie out of the water and open it the perfect omlette rolls out . No mess lots of taste. The more you make the bigger the pot make sure the water is boiled before you place the omlettes in . I use a med pot for 2- 4 omlettes. If you are using green pepper s, onions etc, make sure you dice them up finely so they can cook.
Enjoy!!!

What is it about fish that makes some types worthy of sushi and others unsafe?

Also, please don't say to buy at a specialty store, because I am moving to a small town of 40,000 where those kinds of stores don't exist!

REALLY weird, but I purchase oats/ instants oatmeal (plain, no sugar) in bulk and I have developed a taste for eating them dry.

Yes, dry! Chew on them dry and then gulp down some water. I don't know why I find the taste appealing, but I do.

Is this bad in any way for my Digestive system or any other body function? My friend mentioned something to me that it might be bad, but he might have been talking out of his ***. Who knows. But I just wanted to make sure.

I always have a huge 10 lb. bag of potatoes laying around, but never finish it off quick enough. Besides baked potatoes, mashed potatoes, potato wedges, or potato soup, what are some other creative things that I can create with potatoes as the CENTER of the dish? I'm not looking for potato side-dishes, but potato main courses. Thanks!

The Hall we are having our reception in does not allow alcohol unless it is bought there and they charge an arm and a leg. Plus many of our family members do not drink and are very opposed to even being in the same building where alcohol is being consumed. However we want a drink that is going to look nice for a toast. Punch is fine for the rest of the evening but for this one toast we want something else. Our guests list is at a little over 100 and that means the price of sparkling juices is nearly out of the question (yes I know I picked the wrong time of year to have a wedding reception). Does anyone have any ideas that will not break the bank but still be elegant?
