Yep, Japanese is great, healthy simplicity. But that's like being a good boy / girl all the time. So it wouldn't be too sinful to be BAD once in a while. And when it comes to being BAD, just can't beat us crazy chinese for being exotic and creative in the kitchen.

P.S. If you like the food, Don't go into the kitchen !

I think that America has the best food because we offer every kind of ethnic food there is. In America you can get anything from Italian, Mexican, Chinese, Japanese, German, and anything else you could possibly want.

Japanese food is an art form and also very healthy. I do like French and Mexican food on occasion but often adapt the recipes to the ingredients available. I am on a perennial hunt for Dead Sea salt, Maille mustard, white wine vinegar, Duxelles mushrooms and other ingredients. I refuse to use Roquefort cheese and substitute American blue cheese instead, because it is less rich and better for melting. I also hate truffles and wouldn't pay through the roof for some black fungus.

I also like some German foods like Kaiser buns, sauerkraut, fish and pudding dishes. Danish pastry, Scandinavian-style cabbage dishes, American South traditional, some Greek, absolutely no Italian. I hate their food, it is loaded with lemon, onion and rosemary. I also never eat pasta except for Chinese rice noodles and Japanese ichiban. I simply cannot digest it. I also hate tomato sauce.

I do like Indonesian food and some Indian. Some milder Thai dishes I enjoy if made properly, like Lemongrass chicken, but it must be made without basil.. Vietnamese and Korean food are good, except that the cabbage they serve is best without the beef stew because the spices compete against each other. I prefer to eat a dish of pickles, Korean-style cabbage and steamed rice and no beef stew. I also like some Ukrainian dishes, Jewish rye bread, latkes, deep-fried matzo balls.

For ourselves, we love barbecues, sushi, pizza. Not everything we eat is ethnic. I love waffles, scones, pancakes and thick homemade oatmeal for breakfast. Not a bacon and eggs fan, though. I hate most nuts except for peanut butter. I do love beans and tofu though. It is how you cook it. Sukiyaki is nice.

Any Mediterranean food. The Mediterranean diet, if adhered to, is very healthy and tasty at the same time and not as salty as Japanese.

Every country's food is better than plain old american food. Japanese is healthy and also beautiful, Greek is wonderful also. Persian is another great choice...

I am completely obsessed with Thai cuisine. The blend of spices, rice, and meat is second to none. I love a rich, soupy curry coconut sauce with chicken pieces, bell peppers, onions, and kaffir leaves spooned over jasmine rice. There's probably no greater meal in all the world!
