Just wondering what lengths people have gone to to get revenge on a partner that they found has cheated on them.

I heard somewhere that often times men are too intimidated to go after a beautiful girl because they think that the chance of rejection is higher and they go for ladies who aren't drop dead gorgeous because they are more likely to accept them. Plus, a lot of men are afraid that really pretty women are stuck up and high maitenace and things along those lines. Or maybe they figure a beautiful girl like that must already be taken? I don't remember where I heard this, but it struck me as very odd, so I just wanted to know if there was any validity in that theory. Any thoughts?

This guy i work with that i sorta have a crush on said to me that he has never asked a girl out before....also was talking about a past gf that cheated on him. And that he was only in 1 relationship that was serious enough for marriage. Prior to this i have been getting hints that he likes me back. So i just wonder if this is a hint that he wants me to ask him out?? Or am i just seeing something thats not there because i like him. Would a guy normally talk about past gf's if he likes a girl??

(btw i am 27 and he is 29.....so we aren't teenagers or anything)

for 16 years we have not communicated to each other, though we have an egroup for our batch. we constantly communicate through text just to say hi and hello and updating our reunion...
Suddenly he broke up with his long time girlfriend (9yrs) and supposed to be their scheduled to get married this year.. but he caught her up with another man.. according to him this is the second time the girl have done this to him. so he decided to broke up with her...
He then started to text me. and we see each other for the first time and he told me evrything.. he knows all about me that i am separated also for 3 years with kids...
That was not the first time we saw each other.. we constantly date. watch movie, go to comedy bar.. eat..
we become textmates and he even bougth a sim where he can call me evry night...
I would admit that i started to fall in love with him.. he says he enjoys my company, he is happy and he dont want to loose me but he says its too early to know if that is LOVE

Okay... I started dating this guy three months ago and I thought everything was great. He told me he liked me, thought I was beautiful, and cared about me. He owns a business and he might lose it soon due to finances and has been super stressed out. I have tried to give support, encouragement, or just space when he needs it and be respectful of the situation. He also just divorced a few months ago and I wonder if that has anything to do with it too. Tonight I called cuz I hadn't heard from him in a few days and he said he was having a horrible week and needed to focus on his business and nothing else. I said okay and tried to be really nice to him. He just seemed frustrated and I told him he doesn't have to "go it alone," that his friends and me care for him. He told me he doesn't need a gf right now and broke up with me. Said I deserve better. I told him he doesn't know what I need or deserve. I really liked him. I am so hurting and crying all night. Help );

Well we're all getting older, biological clocks are a'ticking, men are getting tired of the single life - so the need for a permanent fulfilling relationship is generally gradually mounting in us all. I have observed in some old friends that they generaly sacrifice the bulk of their social lives to be with their partners, I'm not talking anout raising a family - that of course is completely understandable, kids take up all your time. But do you find it acceptable to loose touch with friends through commitment to your partner? Best friends with your partner is a great thing, but is it worth the gradual loss of your friends thru not spending any time with them? This seems to be a common practice nowadays. Any thoughts or comments?
