One day a year is set aside for couples only and apparently leaves out everyone single.This crap is engrained in our heads from the time we're little making the stupid mailboxes in school and handing out valentine's days cards to once your adult and feel bad if you're single today.Maybe I'm just saying this because I don't believe in love(it's just a chemical response in your brain!!!)but I think this holiday is just a way jewellers,chocolatiers,greeting card companies,and florists can make the big bucks!Is valentine's day the holiday for idiots in "love"???

So this man that i have been friends with benefits for the last 5 months is starting to act really werid.. i try to talk to him, and i asked him if he still wanted to continue with the relationship and he won't say anything. He told me that he likes to think things over before he makes a decision but i just want answers and he won't give them to me. In the beginning of jan i found out that he actually had been in a serious relationship the whole time but didn't tell me.. I found out because some else told me.. ever since i did find out, he has been acting completly opposite from before. We barely talk, didn't see each other for a month, ect. It has been really hard for me because i care for him, but knowing that he is going home to someone else hurts. and i haven't seen anyone since the beginning. I don't want to play his games if he isn't interested anymore, but he won't tell me anything!! what do i do???

I've been talking to this girl for a while, and our friendship was growing so fast.. i wanted to ask her to the school's valentine dance tonight and she told me she's already going with someone else...I feel very wrong to be going there because i cant stand seeing the girl i actually love dancing with another guy although i cant do anything about it...the bigger problem is that i have to go there because i m helping the others with the decorations...Please help

I have a bf and he makes me laugh like no other, BUT he also makes me cry like no other too! I no ur suppose to keep the cry that makes u laugh like no other but what if that guys, breaks ur heart and makes u cry! I mean i laugh everyday but i also cry! Retired Now Have Time to Date?
I am recently retired and free of my house want to start dating and traveling. I have led a very busy life, my wife has been gone for 3 years, and now I seem to have the energy to really start living again. Where is a really good place to retire where one can live in a community with single people around my age (60) and enjoy oneself. Please be specific. ie, not general like Florida, or Colorado. I know its Valentines day and its a day that you and your loved one do something special and its the day that you get flowers or other small presents, BUT if you dont have a significant other dont feel BAD!!! I have this friend who is single and is not going to get romanced this valentines, she mad e a comment about how life SUCKS!! I just want to put it out there that V-day is about LOVE in general and you dont have to be "attached" to someone to enjoy this day. I am single too, and ending that relationship is the best decision i have made!!! So I am not going to have no V-day blues and you shouldn't either!!

I have been going out with this guy for about 3 months, during these 3 months there have been special occasions. Like christmas, new years, his birthday, and valentines day. Every special day that came up I was there to present a gift or to show that I hadn't forgotten. Unfortunately I have not gotten anything back in return. The only thing that he wants to give me is sex. I don't love him but if your with me then its all about you; but I mean it wouldn't kill him to say thank you or you didn't have to, or anything. And on all the days that he had forgotten he didn't even get me a Valentines Day present. I got nothing. No bear, candy, card, or even a happy valentines day. He doesn't realize how good he has it. And I mean it could be different if I had asked him for something, but I don't ask him for anything. I don't ask for nothing at all. I just want him to love me, and I can't even say that he loves me because if he did then he would act like it. So should I leave him?

I recently began talking with someone and it seems as if we instantly became friends, he flirts with me asking me out but due to past relationship pain I am quite hesitant. He never pushes me, he said he's waiting around for me, problem is his ex girlfriend whom is married constantly flirts with him he says it's nothing but it doesn't feel that way at times. Last night I finally opened up about my past with him and after waiting for him to say goodbye he sat there talking with me, what I really need to know is how can I decipher the difference between him being kind as a friend and him being kind due to honestly wanting to be with me. He hints about me as his girlfriend and his family knows about me but still..I'm terrified of getting led on, again.
All answers are welcomed, Valentines Day being today is just adding more confusion.

ok well i am a single parent, as some of you already know. my friends have been trying to hook me up with guys. i have no trouble meeting guys,but i can never meet the right one. well one of my friends tried to hook me up with this guy jason. he is a good friend and a sweet heart but....he is emotionally like a girly female. example, he got mad because when i was moving into my new apt. he was at my friends house on the comp. when i was getting some things that i had stashed there. so i said hi,reminded him that he said he would watch my daughter and had to leave we moved a lil over a week ago and here in WI it was the coldest day this winter so far. so we were in a hurry. he got mad because i left right away and didn't give him a hug and talk with him. which he didn't end up watching my daughter. i had a handful of guys that are tryingto talk to me and i turned them all down because i thought he was going to be well the one that i was going to date. hang on there isn't enough room.

that the most importan qality of a man is his sense of humor?
are they that miserable that they need someone to make them laugh all the time?
and another thing is Honesty....they want an honest guy but they cant be honest them selves
