It's important that you find a fairly attractive and well liked girl to attend this valentine's dance with so that the girl you have a crush on gets a certain impression of you. Worse case scenario, you wind up liking the girl you took to the dance more than the one you have a crush on. Just be attentive to your date the entire evening, bring her a corsage to wear, make sure you continue to refill her punch glass, and be an all around nice guy at the party. You may have fun! This will be a test of your character.

Go there, help with the decorations.

THEN

you have a choice

Move on and get past it that this girl is going with someone else (probably arranged ages ago and she's not going to break the date) and have a little fun yourself...

Or

Head home and sulk.

Go & do your duty.
If your luck favoures, she can ask you to dance with her for a while. and you can get a chance to know her...
