Retired Now Have Time to Date?
I am recently retired and free of my house want to start dating and traveling. I have led a very busy life, my wife has been gone for 3 years, and now I seem to have the energy to really start living again. Where is a really good place to retire where one can live in a community with single people around my age (60) and enjoy oneself. Please be specific. ie, not general like Florida, or Colorado. Thanks in advance.

You don't have to move out of state to enjoy dating and living in a quiet community unless you live in a state that has a lot of desert land. I feel sorry that you lost your wife. Sometimes it takes a long time to decide whether or not to date again. You are still young enough. As a matter of fact, you are never too old to date, as long as your health is good and you are emotionally stable after the loss of a loved one. Go for it.

You could also move to the metro of Houston. Our weather is more like the southern part of Florida. Right now we are having a little colder than usual weather. January is usually the coldest and gets in 30's - 40's for a couple of weeks. But we usually start having spring in March in the 60's. The cost of living here is very reasonable. We do not have state tax or tax on prescriptions or over the counter meds. They have communities here for the active 55 and older. You should come for a visit, I moved here 10 years ago and love it.
