One day a year is set aside for couples only and apparently leaves out everyone single.This crap is engrained in our heads from the time we're little making the stupid mailboxes in school and handing out valentine's days cards to once your adult and feel bad if you're single today.Maybe I'm just saying this because I don't believe in love(it's just a chemical response in your brain!!!)but I think this holiday is just a way jewellers,chocolatiers,greeting card companies,and florists can make the big bucks!Is valentine's day the holiday for idiots in "love"???

I agree with you in so far as the big businesses using this as an opportunity to make more money. The way I look at it V Day is really not for couples, but really for singles. It is a good day for someone like me who gets nervous near girls to use the day as an excuse to tell them I like them.
But I would not go around splashing my money on a stupid day to prove to someone I love her. I could do that any day of the year, and there are so many nice ways of doing it.
Oh by the way do you want to be my Valentine.

Valentine's day is not just for couples. As a kid, my mom always bought us cards and goodies. As an adult --when I was married (which I am not any longer) to a cold and uncaring man----I did not make a big deal about this day because what I had was not true love.
Now that bluedevil and I have fallen in love, I know that what true and deep love really is, it means everything to me -- to us.
You must have been hurt very deeply to have such a bitter attitude toward love. Some day I pray you will find true love as I have. Try to have a more open mind and heart.

Valentines day isnt only for couples. Its also a day of friendship and family. If you dont believe in love does that mesn that you dont believe in the love you have for your family and for yourself. Love is not only a chemical reaction in your brain it is something you feel. You cant live life that way, i love, love =) and i hope you find it someday and change your mind. Happy V Day

You are just bitter and by the way although it is too commercialized, Mom's always like Valentine gifts. I also see that though you hate this day, you like wrestling which is so fake and a very make believe thing. Enjoy it anyway though!
