Singles & Dating - 6 February 2007

My ex offered for us to just hang out as friends after we broke up last Thanksgiving (2006). I declined then because I knew it would be too hard on me. Now, I am sort of feeling I might be able to handle it. What do you think? Do you think it will completely re-open those wounds and I will hurt all over again. For some reason, I still have this feeling deep in my heart that one day we will get back together. Is that just my wishful thinking?

We've finally talked about getting engaged and marriage after almost 5 years. I was very excited, i do want to get marry. At the same time I'm very indecisive of the path I'm taking with him. I fear the marriage isn't going to be a pretty picture . I even think the issues and problem we might have (we both have a kid from previous relationship). Perhaps some fears coming from observing my parents' marriage, i've been staying with my parents last two years. Sometimes they would say things like that they don't see my marriage will last with him etc.... it hurts my feeling and makes me doubting my relationship. I've broken up/fought with him 2 or 3 times already since he talked about marry me. I don't know what's wrong with me, sometimes I'm so angry at him for nothing. Then I would call quit, saying we're not compatible etc. I just did it again. He revealed he already bought the ring and now will return it. I love him and picture myself be with him everyday.

Man, I guess I ask this because it just blows my mind how people can be so rude. Lady ignores me but speaks when spoken to. She can be downright pleasant but next time I wont give me the time of day. I even hold the door for her and she wont thank me. All I can think is that shes one arrogant person. I feel sorry for the man in her 40 year old +/- life. Why are people so freaking rude? im confused!!see i met my boyfriend by my bestfriend because they are cuzins!!well now my bestfriend says he was playing me and i believed her so i dumped him and i didint even ask him!!so a week later he told me that he never played me..that i never even trusted him...so now i regret it..but then my bestfriend says that he was playing me...who should i believe?

I am in a relationship that I feel is a mistake. He doesn't treat me right and I dont feel the love. I am starting to feel that I should have just stayed with my ex. He treated me good of course we had our ups and downs but I just lost the love I had for him aswell and didnt want to lead him on. Now I dont know what i am doing and starting to think that it is me. After allthis experience I had having my heart broken i just dont feel like I could ever love again. I dont think there is someone out there for me and I am fine about it. I would much rather be alone and happy then in a relationship and miserable for the rest of my life. How about you???

me and my boyfriend have been together for 8 months. we got in a huge fight on friday and broke up but got back together the next day. there is this girl he works with and hes always on the phone with her. last night he told me he had to get up extra early to drive her to school cuz she doesnt have a car and i told him its not my problem and he said "well its not your problem but its mine" and i asked why and he said its cuz shes a really close friend. and he keeps comming up with reasons why we shouldnt be together. friends of mine have seen him with her at target and once at the mall, we saw her and she yelled "JOSHIE!!!" all excited to see him. i think they like each other but i dont know. does he like her????

I am pretty outgoing but when I am around this guy I just smile and act all shy its so weird and funny.....we have a strong chemistry and love to be around each other but when we do get close (just kissing!) I get all shy....I am usually not....its just him....I am 29 and hes 26 and feel like a little kid again.......we have been dating for 2 weeks now and have now determined we are a couple :) But I still act shy in person but when I am on the phone we talk for 4 hours!!! and when we email its just goes on and on and on.....why is this? Its funny because it just feels like we are kids trying to hold hands, finding ways to hold hands and him trying to kiss me......:)

he and i dated for 1 yr and it was so serious that he told everyone that i was the one. i chickened out and refused to see him for 5 months. we got back together but he resented me and i'm kind of high maintenance so any little thing can pss me off. this lead to arguments. we broke up and started dating new people. after awhile, i was devastated bc i realized i loved only him. he moved on with a new girl who was more "safe and sweet". he would still call me and she didn't like it. she caught us at the library together once (we're in college). they got in a lot of arguments (not just over me). one night he said he would leave her but changed his mind the next morning. i was incredibly pssd. she dumped him afterwards (they lasted a month). he still didn't want to be in a relationship however, and tried to see other people. i was ready to move on, then after christmas break, he begged me to be in a relationship again. he's SOO sweet and considerate now/we stopped arguing.
i'm confused!!

My girlfriend of 4 and a half years and I recently split and things just aren't going that well. I am in a new area, starting a new job, and I don't really have any close friends nearby. My parents and family all live on the otherside of the country. This is the most alone I've ever fault and I go to bed and wake up thinking about my ex. It's horrible. The worst part is that we've had a lot of problems lately and I had promised myself that I'd do all I could to make it work. I feel that I did so and it still didn't work. I guess I'm not used to trying my hardest at something and failing, but now I'm just lost on what to do with myself. My best friend who I used to lean on was my girlfriend and now she's gone. Should I consider seeking professional help or just go to a bar and have a couple crazy nights?

Let's say you met someone that you really like, but you have a lot going on with work, college, family issues, & financial issues. This person wants a committment but you know that you're not quite where you want to be mentally, emotionally, or financially in order to offer this person the type of committment that they're seeking. You don't want to see this person leave you're life because you care about them a great deal. So what do you do? was just reading a question from a lady that fell in love with someone and someone mentioned transference. What the hell is this? Why do psychiatrists have to label everything?! Regardless of the situation you have fell in love! You can fall in love with someone at any time, at any place and in any capacity, professonal or not. Does anyone else believe this crap? I am in a situation where I have fell in love with someone in a professional capacity but it's because I have bloody chemistry with him. I like the person he is and thats it! Bloody transference - next they will be spouting that it's a medical condition. For God's sake you fall in love with people coz you like them don't you? Or is it me? Can anybody explain this??
