Let's say you met someone that you really like, but you have a lot going on with work, college, family issues, & financial issues. This person wants a committment but you know that you're not quite where you want to be mentally, emotionally, or financially in order to offer this person the type of committment that they're seeking. You don't want to see this person leave you're life because you care about them a great deal. So what do you do? Tell them that you're a little confused & want more stability in your life before you give them your all or do you let them go? How do I handle this situation?

Wow interesting question....My best bet would be to tell the love of your life your situation. Don't get into details but give her/him the basics of your drama and why commiting right now wouldn't be all that great for you. Help her/him understand that it's not anything against her, you just feel if things were to cool down, in however long it takes, you'd be able to provide them with the love, support and commitment they are seeking. If you explain all of this, then they should stick around regardless of how bad they want to commit. If they leave after all's said and done, you can do ten times better with someone else.

i think that honesty is the best way to go explain to them your situation and that you don't want them to go out of your life but right now you cannot offer them what they are looking for. And if they truely care for you they will understand.
