Why do some people who were abbused by their partner go back to the partner they were abbused by to continue relationship after the abbuse?

We go out in search of the one whether actively or passively. We find someone who in our hearts we believe is them and yet in the end it is not. We are hurt sometimes devistated, but then after a while we go out and do it all over again. Are we that stupid?, can we not recall the pain? Why is it our nature to do this to ourselves?
Surely somewhere Pavlov's theory must come in, when we start to get the feeling of "love" our brains should remind us about the pain, but it does not. Why would this be?

My ex boyfriend and I have kept in touch for two years..we broke up when i moved away for college. We both still love each other and talk but i know he's dating other women. Why does he say to me "Are you not going to call me back?" when I don't return his calls right away? Does this suggest he really still loves me and misses me? PS. We DON't have sex anymore. but always talk about getting back together in the future. but he broke up with me and then worries when I dont call him back..im so confused

I am wondering if anyone has experienced this, but this is the first time I could say ever in my life that I had a boyfriend sniff me. I know it may sound funny but my man always smell me down south. I have no idea why, but he says that I am the first girl he been with that dont have a bad smell but I find it weird. It gets more funny. When he touch me he sniffs and then howls, I find it weird but after a while it is normal but it still is weird. Have any female experienced this? Guys if you do this what exactly do you get out of this??

I met this girl a little over a year ago (I was 19 at the time and she was 17, still in High School, now I'm 20 and she's 18), we met because we were dance partners in one of my cousins party. I really didn't have strong feelings for her at first, but the more times I would see her at rehearsal my feelings became stronger. I found her on myspace telling her that I really liked her, (I didn't tell her in person because of our age differences) but in return she told me she was "talking" to someone at the time, she told me I was a great guy and all. The last time I saw her was 7 months ago when she invited me to a graduation party she had. We didn't talk at all because a lot of her family and friends were there and she had to attend to them all the time. I still send her messages trying to ask her out, but I get no responses. I think she's shy or their might be other guys, but she is still available. What can I do to find out if she has feelings for me? Plese help me.
