Singles & Dating - 20 January 2007

She's been single for 3 years, had two very insignificant b/fs in high school that didn't even last a month. The problem? She's so shy. And when there is a guy she likes, she's either met him off the Internet or is so nervous with him in person that she finds it hard to say a word to him. I want to help her be happy. What kind of advice should I give her to help her date? Are there places I should take her .... she's 20, btw, so bars and things are probablty out of the question (she probably wouldn't go to those anyway). I have no idea what to say because I've never been shy and I have no trouble getting dates. She's extremely nice and everyone likes her and such but usually the guys she likes ends up just leading her on or do something stupid. She's now wanting to find Christian guys but I have no clue on where she should go (church is not an option because she works at a church on Sundays) Any ideas?

I didn't want to tell her that I loved her until it was right, and it felt right to me, I guess I was moving a little fast because a few days after that she told me that she was scared by that because someone told her that before then he played her and she was scared that I would do that too. All the girls at my school that I am attracted to are always hanging out and talking to alot of guys. This intimidates the hell out of me to where I don't even see the purpose in trying to talk to them. Whats the use if they have a boyfriend or talk to a bunch of other guys??? WHY do girls have to have shitloads of guy friends.

Ok I really love my boyfriend we went together when I was in the 9th grade, but he broke up with me after omly three months because he thought I was cheating on him(but I wasn't). So now we are back together and I am in the 11th grade now i love him so much and the truth is that I never stopped loving him since we were together when I was in the 9. when you interact with people on here...does it ever occur to anyone that they may have met that person somewhere before...or even walked past them in the street at some point in their lives....we all touch lives in some way every day...or here and there...do you ever think about people whose lives have touched yours or whos lives you have touched...even just by being aware of them walking...a fleeting glance...a chance meeting...just anything...even without conscious realisation of the fact...pretty wow to think about isnt it???...

I see it every so often in cartoons or skits about chivalry. Couple walks along street, come across mud puddle, man gallantly removes coat and lays it across the puddle for her to safely cross without muddying her shoes. So.....is it rude to expect her to walk AROUND said puddle, and keep your jacket clean?

O.K. yeahh i was at a party and the kid I have never met before and yesterday I met him and he would like stare at me and then we would smile and laugh. There's this guy I know. Let's say his name is Jim. Well, Jim is being very strange lately. Sometimes he just randomly wraps his arm around my shoulder. One time when he made me mad, he put his arms around me and said he was sorry.

At a lock-in, John, two friends, and me went around the church, chasing each other in the dark. John and I were on the stairs and he grabbed my hand. He held it for a second, then dropped it. The whole night he kept touching me in the middle of the back, and walking around with his hand on my back. When the four of us friends were going to go into the basement, he told me not the be scared, that he'd hold me the whole time.
Later that night he found out that I like him. For a while he stayed away, but I caught him staring at me a lot. Then he went back to acting like he did.
Then when I told him not to touch me, he said that I should get used to it. I don't understand at all! I like this guy, but he's acting so strange! What should I do????

How do you act around the girl you think you might have a "crush" on? (this is intended for the guys, but girls you can definitely answer too if you want to share anything you know about this:)

And I really mean the "crush" part of this question: like, I'm not asking how you act around the girls who you think are 'hot' or whatever, but that one girl who you really like just because she's...her, if you know what I mean... 4 years ago my friends ex boyfriend came to visit. I met him and we became friends. We talked on and off for 9 months. Finally I went to see him and the feelings fell into place. The only thing is my friend did not know. She knew we were talking but that was it. I saw him on and off for 1.5 years but then my friend and I moved in together. I decided that I didn't want to risk that friendship so I stopped talking to him. Over the holidays her ex (4.5 years seperated), her, and I all went out. We met up with a bunch of our other friends. I had not seen him for 2 years but my stomach went all into knots. My heart was beating fast and I felt myself falling for him again. We have continued to talk after the holidays but we keep it hidden because I still live with her. She and I are great friends most of the time. It is the usual girls talking behind each others backs though. He is now talking about us getting married, we haven't even dated. I don't know if I should continue.

I've been going out with this guy for such a long time (we're seriously talking like weeks here!) He's a hopeless romantic, always taking me to surprise dinners at Applebees. We share everything, he even lets me use his toothbrush. I really think I'm falling for this guy!
