I like this guy, and he likes me too, but in a way, I'm afraid to go out with him. Its this weird sense that's just taken over me! He's really nice too, so why am I so afraid to go out with him? Is it cuz of my last love experience in the past or just me?

And no, I am not 15, nor boy-crazy, cuz I've only had one close person to me which was my ex. I always put school before me, but now more and more guys are liking me!

Any time you put yourself out there, you risk rejection and that is scary. Its not just you, its everyone, just some of us can take that rejection and say "OK, this one turned out not to be for me" and move on, and others say "no never again he was the only one" and stay alone for a long time. Whatever happens if you don't go out with him, you'll never know. And I must admit, when I was single, I was always curious.

Given the statistics on divorce, it is easy to be afraid to love. Most people are afraid to let any emotion really show, especially one as strong as Love. Perhaps you have seen your share of breakups, and that has turned you bitter in regards to Love. Maybe you believe yourself unworthy ( you aren't, ya know?) Maybe you've been hurt before and really don't want to risk being hurt again.

It possible it could be because you've been burned before. But you shouldn't let that stop you. You should, however, move things slowly. Don't do things or say things that you'll regret later. Spend time with him, see if you can pinpoint the real reason why you're hesitant to go on.
If the guy really cares about you, he'll give you all the time you need.

It could possibly be because of your last love experience. I couldn't say because I dont' actually know what happened back then. However, it is also possible that you are just scared to take the risk in case it backfires on you. It's perfectly normal to be scared, but if you like him, and he likes you back, just take the chance.

The human mind is very evolved. We learn by past experiences. Sometimes, we need to ignore our animal instincts and go the way our heart leads us. Personally, I had been hurt so many times. Finally, I just told myself to forget the past and focus on today. I then created this philosophy. "Dwell not on which that has come to pass, nor on which that has yet to come. Focus on today and of that which is before you and throw not Thy live to the winds". So, to sum it up...it could be your past experiences...so just forget them...there is such thing as fate...

It's probably your Past. But listen to this. Listen WITH your Heart. It won't lie. It won't do you harm. If you are old enough to know the difference. Listen with your own inner self. If you don't know what I'm tlakin' about. Stay home and watch T.V.

It could be a fear of rejection if you have had bad experiences before.
Everybody, regardless of their assets, looks, intelligence have one thing in common : fear of rejection.
We have all had them. To open oneself to love is to open oneself to all the hurt as well. It is life and it is a risk worth taking I would say.
Shutting oneself because of fear is shutting oneself to life and in a way.....be only half alive don't you think ?

Okay. Usually the fear to love is embedded in a subconcious belief that you are unlovable.

Maybe because you never felt like this with any other guy and so your feelings are overwhelming you with what you are feeling and it is scaring you.
