What does that phrase really mean? When a girl says "I'm Fat" to her boyfriend , is she just looking for a compliment or reassurance that she is in fact Not fat?

I hardly ever say it to my boyfriend, but if I feel fat at a certain point, I'll accidentally say it - I don't expect him to make me feel better or anything, I just happen to feel fat...

But a lot of girls do it so their b/f will tell them they're not. Their b/fs probably don't tell them how pretty they are often enough. They also might want to know that he'll love her no matter what..

By the time they are three or four. This little girl at church was having a birthday party and because her best friend was there, her cousin was also at church with them that day, she told her cousin that her best friend was coming to the party and she wasn't. Now, of course the cousin still got invited to the party and they had a ball but the mean girl mentality normally starts with singling others out to become friends with a more popular group. I would teach my kids that all kids go through a stage like that, boy or girl, and that they need to not pick their friends because of who will make them more popular but for who is the good friend. And if my daughter turned out to be a mean girl then I'd sit down with her and have a chat about it but if the behavior continues then I'd probably do more about it. No one likes a mean girl; not even another mean girl.

well without hearing her voice it is hard to know.
The new hiphop phrase now is to say that a girl is PHAT which means something good (13 year old son translated that for me).
There is a clothing line called PHAT FARM (some rapper inspired line) that is supposed to be cool too!
So if she is saying it like that, it could mean that she is saying 'im cute'.
If she does not mean it that way, she could just need you to say, no honey you look great to me or something else like that to reassure her that you like what you see!
Hang in there

Basically wants her boyfriend to say that she's not just for reassurance.

I think that would mean that she has seriously low self esteem and is starving for attention and she's probably looking for a compliement and reassurance.

SHE'S looking for REASSURANCE that YOU DON'T SEE that SHE SEES "fat" on some areas of her BODY. - basically she wants you to say "You're Not Fat"

She wants a complement from you. Tell her she looks great the way she is, and give her a kiss like you mean it. Maybe you'll get some extra nookie tonite!

Repeat after me: "I love you the way you are. You are just great! Oh shut up dork, lets go get some Ben and Jerrys and eat it in bed sugar nipples."

It means "i'm fishing for compliments. don't tell me the truth." I, personally wouldn't fish for compliments ever. It is stupid and annoying. I'm not an attention hog.
